ELo are ace. Been to see a few acceptable copies too. But then again they were only morphing the Beatles. Much better at it than Oasis. Perhaps my favourite ELO tune.

There was an Irish man who wanted Danny Boy for his son's funeral. Having scoured the Internet he decided that this was the best version:

Ive never seen or heard the relationship between the two myself ....dont like the beatles , but love ELO . The orchestral signature and flavour sets them apart in my opinion .There is nothing to compare .

Is this some sort of queer thread ? Homophobe you should be hounded woof woof off this board , mad man barking and his pack of **************'s will be rabid , just listening to the news about the poor Muslim shopkeeper murdered for wishing his Christian customers a Happy Easter, not good listening tbh but seems like it is the way of the Quran if the murdering butcher charged with his murder is to be believed. Right now I'm listening to the sound of a fish - one of those ones gasping for air in sandwich bags that you see given away at travelling fairs. Abject desolate prizes awarded for the simple feat of tossing an item over an item. This fish: he's splashing about excitedly. Perhaps because he can see a big bright world out there full of neon and colour and bustle, only the thin skin of a polythene bag away. (Or perhaps just because there are some Muslims nearby, we can't be exactly sure). Anyway, he can almost TASTE this bold and brave place. Yet sadly he never will. He'll never know its beauty, its complexity, or its life. His destiny is different. Some fish, my friends, are allowed to swim free. Alas our little fairground fish - let's call him "Carps" for argument's sake - is not such a lucky specimen. Instead, he's fated to spend his days swimming in ever-decreasing circles in one of those tiny retro goldfish bowls predominantly used as vapid ornaments in hipster bars these days. A cruel habitat. Round and round young Carps flounders, covering the same patches of stagnant water day after day, occasionally eating his own shit for entertainment and sustenance. Feel for him, Cakers, for it's a sorry existence. It would be lovely to think that one day young Carps might make it out into the bright world beyond the bag, to experience its wonder, its wildness and its wisdom all for himself. But as we all know, in order to free your body, first you must free your MIND..... So yeah, I'm listening to that and also Face Value by Phil Collins

It wasn't a criticism, Jeff took the available musical influences of the time and created something of his own. Jeff would disagree with you. The basic template for ELO was 'Day in the Life' by the Beatles. IMO. Play it back to back with 'Horace Whimp'. And clean yr ears out.

I'm getting mither about the house being decorated. It is getting me down, as I want to move and cannot afford to move where I want to. By the way, I'm living in a house, and have done for many years, that is a house that Jack built. I am totally p'd off with it, and would rather not spend another penny on it!

Brilliant. The artist I was thinking of that I first heard on Sky is actually Lera Lynn. I must have ended up with a Daughter album on my iphone by cultural osmosis.

I can hear noises from peoples mouths but I don't understand the words, it's such a harsh accent here in Belfast.
