A bit off brief, but The Green Man was excellent. And the weather was great, with the rolling Welsh hills a beautiful backdrop. Saw all of the aforementioned bands but special mention also to Boy Azooga and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Good rollicking guitar rock. Nice stuff too from Susanne Sundfor, Phoebe Bridgers and Curtis Harding.

Locked into that Gotham by Radio4 agin. It was amongst the bargain cds I picked up $13 for a stack of speculative stuff, some heard, some heard of, some not, but looked interesting. Hadn't done that kind of wanton music spend for a while. It's paying off.
Great album.

Watched Dead Man's Shoes last night and this piece of awesomeness was part of the soundtrack. It's the bit where Considine spikes the bad guys and fits the scene so well:

.... saw The Charlatans at The Triffid in Brisbane last night (only taken me 30 years!) They were very good (somebody posted the same after seeing them at the start of their tour in Northwich.)Young Brisbane band Sky High were supporting. Very much in the same vein. The young fella then took me to see Stooki Sound in The Valley - very doof

I had a real treat of a 30 minute organ recital today visiting the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow.
This is the place.
Didn't get to hear Bowie but this was excellent.

Just back from the Offcut free festival at Winsford. The (semi-local) Longcut were superb. From the new album:

Saw RBCF the same weekend in Belgium as they often have the same artists on (absolutely blown away by The War on Drugs btw - outstanding) Also saw Boy Azooga supporting them in Manc, great gig that was.

Any views on Idles amongst the rock & pop cognascenti? I like owt that indulges in a bit of punky rawcusness, but I don't fully understand the furore from friends and folk who I thought would know better. I don't think they're all that, a bit of coffee table anger imo. I do keep dipping in to see if I can 'get it'. mmmm

Really got into them the last couple of days. Funnily enough, came on to this thread to post this. One of the singles of the year for me.
