Anyone like The Lemon Twigs? This new one could be from a bloody Disney film but I love it. Seeing them at Green Man festival this weekend. Anyone going? War On Drugs, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, John Grant, Joan as Policewoman, Teenage Fanclub etc

Anyone like The Lemon Twigs? This new one could be from a bloody Disney film but I love it. Seeing them at Green Man festival this weekend. Anyone going? War On Drugs, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, John Grant, Joan as Policewoman, Teenage Fanclub etc Didn't want to leave your questions hanging, but have to respond to both in the negative. I'm not going to the GreenMan, but like the bands you've mentioned. It's generally a strong line up, appealing to my tastes. I havn't googled this year's line up or owt, so I'll ask- where is it this year?, are you camping/glamping or other? Hope you have a good one, the weather conducive and that. I'm quite envious. As for the Lemon Twigs, a mate burned me their first album, got quite into it {think I may have hoisted a track or two on here.} There's some great live session {KEXP} stuff on youtube, the drummer brother does a very good Keith Moon thing. I had a bit of a saccharine overload on them though, declined a chance to see them at The Deaf Institute as a result. Which I kind of regret, think they're a better/rockier proposyion in the live, that new song don't do a lot for me. I'm no arbiter of taste though. I'm off to see Zea at the wknd.

Absolutely love 'Van Occupanther', start to end a stunner with Roscoe and Young Bride as familiar lifters, but it all hangs together beautifully as an album. Future retro and that, it could easily sit alongside the Byrds, Fleetwood Mac, Buffalo Springfield etc. But now. Mint. 'Courage' isn't quite so nice to my ears, but won some Mojo awards, even more of a grower maybe. Also picked up cheap albums by Chris Brokaw, Hrvsta, Buck65 and King of Woolworths. None of which have had sufficient turntable time.

It's probably the reason why I prefer Easter to Horses, I seem to be the only one
