Hold that thought. We failed to qualify for the next stages of the Euros that year with Portugal and Germany in our group. Let's see what the current crop do under Roy on a far easier looking group..... We only qualified at all thanks to a play off with Scotland in a group for which Sweden were the toughest opposition and the top two qualified automatically. How's this for an England team then? news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/8353751.stmBrown! Upson! Lescott! Bridge! Jenas! Bent! That defence with Barry sitting in front of them is better than the current crop

Rose is the country's most in-form left back. Nowhere near the worst England team ever. I thought you wanted Bertrand at left back? I forgot about Rose.

I thought we were talking ever Dave, as in ever. Would you have Heskey or Barmby over Kane? Dyer over anybody? I've just posted another one from about 2010, I defy you to tell me that ones better than the current team. Barmby was decent for England as was heskey. I'd take a fully fit kieran dyer over lallana everyday of the week. Barmby was decent for England? Are you having one of your 'I'll argue anything just to pass the time' days Dave?

Not at all. He was as i recall.
He had many good games for England and was a pretty intelligent footballer as I remember him

Drinkwater should play over Henderson I agree. Albrighton worth a place in the squad. Would you start Vardy over Kane?

Would you start Vardy over Kane? No I wouldn't start Vardy over Kane but I'd certainly play him in a front 3 with Kane and wellbeck. The England team should built around Kane, Ali and ross Barkley.

I think it's touch and go whether Vardy goes in the first place. If Sturridge stays fit (that's a monumental if) I think he will go.
Rooney, Kane, Sturridge, Wellbeck will be the four out an out front men.

Am I hearing this right, hodgson says is playing a weakened side to avoid being labelled favourites for the tournament. I'd argue that side is perhaps our strongest Don't worry roy considering we have won the square root o ffuck all for 50 years I suspect we won't be

I feel like crying when I see that England line up, not ONE world class player in our team anymore, when 10 years ago most of them were. Fucking Henderson and Lallana, words fail me. Welbeck deserves his chance though, so does Vardy really.

Rooney had the potential to be but never fulfilled it. Owen maybe was for a couple of years but quickly dropped off. Scholes was buy he was seriously under utilised. Most of the rest were just very good players, not world class.

If Vardy plays, it has to be through the middle.
But in my opinion, Kane is the best out and out striker in the league. There isn't really a place for Vardy unless we went 2 upfront.

Welbeck deserves his chance though, so does Vardy really. We've never had a team full of world class players. Or even half a team since the forties or fifties. Even the World Cup winners were individually mostly not world class, and if we had been playing abroad we would have been knocked out.

It isn't the weakest team ever, but surely the most inexperienced. They must pull together and be at their most confident. And hope that the opposition have a day off. The real worry is that the outfielders are a collective, the goalkeeper too often a target for blame, regardless.
Good luck Jack.

Just turned the radio on and they're at the stadium to cover the match and talking about England and how they should play, their chances in the Euro's etc. Within 5 seconds Terry Butcher (I think it's him) starts talking about Leicester! Saying England should play like Leicester and talking about LEICESTER!
I mean listen, isn't it jolly hockeysticks for English football that Leicester are doing so well but seriously....Just fuck off talking about them for 2 seconds, PLEASE.
I've made an error here, I'm well aware, i've fallen into the foxes trap or slipped on the Glacier mint and started talking about Leicester too. What a kante i now look.
I'm just off out to get a 'Drinkwater for Pope' tattooed on my left tit and "I once bought smack from Jamie Vardy" tattooed on my winkle. It's a biggie! For Christian Fuchs sake!
I do love Leicester though, in fact in light of the terrible terrorist atrocities around the globe i'd offer up the suggestion that we parachute in the Leicester team and staff as i'm sure they'd sort it all out, no problem.
I hope England and Germany play like Leicester tonight, it'd be fantabulous! Fuck Stoke, Leicester rules OK!

It'll go one of two ways for Jack.
1. He'll take a battering in net but pulls off a series of stunning saves and we win by an against the run of play Harry Kane goal. He then takes Harts place in net for the Euros.
2. He'll take a battering in net leaking 4+ goals that he couldn't do anything about, gets the blame and never starts for England again.

But not playing Vardy who broke the PL consecutive scoring record and has scored 19 goals already for Danny fucking Welbeck is a joke.
If he scored them for the shit he'd be first on the team sheet
