He looked nervous to me mate. I don't think he has a lack of confidence in himself but he did look a bit nervous last night compared to his usual composed self. The amount of times he passed it short (clearly under instruction and not a personal decision) only to receive it back under pressure was ridiculous. Hodgson needs to realise we aren't Barcelona. We aren't Germany. We aren't Bayern Munich. It doesn't matter if Jack plays, or Hart or Forster, the defenders in front of them aren't good enough to play that tactic. I agree with that 100%. Even the home side were guilty of overplaying it at the back last night, I lost count how many times we closed them down and nicked the ball back in their final third. Like I said in an earlier post, there is a time and a place for the keeper to roll it out to his back four.

At that level they shouldn't be booting it up field for a 50/50 ball in the air I'm a massive fan of playing out from the back but not when your defenders have attackers from the opposing team breathing down their necks. This trend of playing our deep, starting with the keeper can scare the hell out sometimes. It's great when Vardy intercepted and put Alli on a plate. I think they all do it now because top level players are virtually lethal at countering poor clearances. Many goals are scored from poor clearances, it resembles U9's mini football at times. A shit goal kick gifts the opposition; better to play from the back, when the defence has control...
