Is he the answer to play up front? Holds the ball up well, good in the air and he also got decent pace! In the few outings he has had I think he has done very well, and I also think he could link up well with Bojan who I guess is Hughes' first choice behind the the striker on top. I guess when all players are fit our first 11 will be like this:
..............Butland.............. Johnson..Shawcross..Wolly...Pieters .........Whelan....Imbula.......... Shaq...........Bojan..........Arnie ..............Joselu...............
Harsh on Afellay, Walters and Diouf, but I think we'll line up like that as often as we can!

Don't think you can drop Afellay. He and Imbula were terrific today, probably our MOTMs.

Fucking love Joselu, he'd be my first choice striker of the bunch. Loved him ever since that bizarre ref-hugging moment.
Even with his stupid celebration.

I like him in front of goal, but hold upnplay isnt brill - seen him play us into trouble with over ambitious balls back into midfield/defence and at times he is easily outmuscled
Knows where the goal is though and a better option up top than Dioufy I think

Yes.
That team you've named is the way forward, 100%. Special things to come.

I think he looked good today. The first time I've been impressed with his general play. Yes he's contributed in bits before but this was the first time I've watched him and thought he might make it in this team.

The game changed in Bournemouth's favour when he came on. We would have been better trying him on the flank as SJW was giving their centre backs a torrid time and was holding the ball well.

I thought we were much poorer when he came on. I know that he immediately scored, but the direct result of him coming on was that we became trapped in our own penalty area. We simply had no out ball. He's just not enough of a presence up front, compared to players like Walters and Diouf.

I think he holds the ball well and brings others into the game. Needs a bit of Costa in him. I don't mean in an anal astronaut sort of way.

The game changed more to do with the fact that we had 50% of the patched up defence we started with. But that was after he'd scored with his first touch! We sat back then played 4 , 5, 1 and had sjw and Shaqiri supporting the full backs allowing Pieters to tuck in and support tex.

As someone with both a brain and full 20/20 vision, I declare Joselu is our best striker in terms of what we hope to achieve. Walters will score goals as the loan striker but long term, the Hos is the man.

He's a really good player with bags of potential still. The only question is how to accomodate him in the team? I thought he was really poor today as lone striker. The game changed in Bournemouth's favour when he came on. Apart from the goal he scored you mean? We would have been better trying him on the flank as SJW was giving their centre backs a torrid time and was holding the ball well. I thought we were much poorer when he came on. I know that he immediately scored, but the direct result of him coming on was that we became trapped in our own penalty area. We simply had no out ball. He's just not enough of a presence up front, compared to players like Walters and Diouf. Come on, this isn't rocket science! The reason "the game changed in Bournemouth's favour" and "we became trapped in our own penalty area" wasn't because Joselu came on, it was because we'd lost Johnson & Muni, and had Diouf at RB. Whelan, Affelay & Imbula sat deeper to protect our make-shift defence, and Diouf and Tex had clearly been given instructions to take no chances and just welly it (and rightly so!), which meant we struggled to keep the ball. To blame this on Joselu coming on is just daft! It's the difference between "cause and effect" and "association"... EDIT: actually just realised March is probably being sarcastic
