Attachment DeletedHow awesome would these guys have been in their day for us right now?! Found this pic out whilst searching for something else & thought such a shame they never got to play for us in our Premiership days. Sure they'd both be in the starting 11 for Saturday had this photo been taken today. Big Serg and Shawcross would have been an immense defensive partnership

Id trade them both for a prolific striker. But yeah for squad depth in those positions they would be pretty much perfect.

Think Shtaniuk would have been immense at the back if he was still young enough, but not sure if Hoekstra would have been consistent enough with some of today's premier league defenders......we'll never know now!!!

Be a great sub at the very least. Tbh I think prem defenders are not as good as they were even ten years ago

Hoekstra played at the very highest level in his prime and would be able to play in our league without a problem if he was in his prime today.

Yeah, I know he did.....I'm not saying he'd be shit, I'm merely saying he probably wouldn't be consistent enough??? but like I say, we'll never know now??? It was the same with Ginola, brilliant on his day, but massively lacked consistency!!!

It's a position that allows players to drift in and out of games more so than any other.
