I was fortunate enough recently to Holiday in the Maldives, perhaps the furthest Ive been east.
We had a great time and no mistake - a personal bungalow on the beach with all mod cons. One thing did strike me though was the massive impact the premiership has on sport worldwide. There were plenty of non UK sports channels available where, they discussed over and over the merits of each premier league team and where they were from.
It was a real eye opener to me to see the commercial market opportunities this must now present to areas like stoke upon Trent who nowadays achieve this worldwide status.
Ive said this before but , its worth saying again- SURELY the whole area including the commercial community and the city council must grasp this amazing opportunity to put right a generation of ignorance and corporate incompetence as displayed by the local city council and urban development agencies.
My question remains, Have those people that matter, the intellect or the 'wherewithal' to do this ?
And What are there immediate plans to seize on this new found status for the area ?
-on past performance I wouldn't be so sure they would be capable of grasping this AND if they don't - they should be replaced -pure and simple !

I've heard they are already addressing some issues.
They're gonna order more pies for next season, and employing an extra Junior to help in the 'shop'.

It's well annoying when there's no plastic forks left. I hate eating pies without a plastic fork.
