For me personally, to have any chance of Europe (1 pt off 7th) considering that 7th place may or may not get a place this year, Saturday is a must win, it's a huge game, and especially after the past 5 games, this team needs a win. If we can gather some sort of form from Saturday onwards, I could see a possible 26pts from the remaining 36, which right now I would glady take...

If we lose on Saturday we could easily still get top 6.

Pffft, 'must win' bullshit.
We could lose the next 3 and still make Europe.

The way we're playing at the moment? If we don't win Saturday, no chance of top 6. We seem to only be able to win a game nowadays when we go in with a 'must-win' attitude, so lets go in with a hmm this one we can draw attitude and get beat again

But Saturday certainly isn't make or break either way.

8th or above and this will be another very good season imo
Hanging on to our stars - ( I fear that Arnie may decide to move on however), a striker in / possibly a CB and others may be attracted to join the club
Continued excellent support, another 1000 season tickets sold and plans to fill in the corners, would be a bonus!

We could easily get tatered om Saturday then with them 3 in the fold over the next week or 2 go on a strong run. I don't fancy us for top 6 anyway but we have every chance of 7th like the others around us.

Hughes needs to start earning his money again to be totally frank.
Put the right side out with the right mentality to get at Everton. Win, lose or draw it isn't a problem. Having the right attitude to the game, the club and the supporters is.
Liverpool aside, we've seen some dreadful performances lately.
Partly down to form, partly down to fitness and partly down to the manager.
EDIT: There are some members of this squad that need to step back up to the plate also. I'm looking at some that have just been awarded new contracts for a kick off.

Partly down to form, partly down to fitness and partly down to the manager. Totally agree O.
And while I am so, so pleased it's MLH in the chair and not the previous, er, "incumbent", neither do I think he's immune from some portion of the blame (certainly not all of it, some players need a long cold shower also).
Of course we don't know (& why should we?) everything that cracks off week to week with fitness, form, training application, attitude, relationships, contracts etc., but some of the selections have been odd to say the very least.
Most notably with Dooffer - and why he hasn't had a crack recently, I haven't a Scooby - but whatever it is, I, like many others I'm sure, have no confidence whatsoever that we will see him on Saturday up top & down the middle, where he should be.
That particular non selection, or at least the absence of an explanation as to why it won't happen is also a source of wonder / growing irritation.
Not exactly the start of the HHW club but so frustrating when we could & should be doing so, so much better.
Let's hope Gilbert is the catalyst for a shake up that gets us firing on all cylinders again (although, quite when he's ready, I don't know).

The only way we will be in Europe is if Germany invade Poland again!. 11th or 12th place at best.

Number one priority should be keeping a clean sheet, by any means necessary. I'd like to be optimistic but the back four is a massive balls up as it stands. Rush Shawcross back and season could be genuinely screwed.
Lord knows how we solve this one in the short term.

We will see a different beast in Everton on Saturday.
Its imperative that we stick to Lukaku otherwise he's going to run riot.

I'm not saying two banks of four, but we were ridiculously open last night from the off - very naiive. Can't afford to give an early goal away on Saturday. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

I don't think it's a must win for Europe. I think it's a must win from the point of view that were probably low on confidence, you can see it in how we're playing. If we win it could be a catalyst to push on and get the ball rolling to get the points needed.
Lose again however and we could start to spiral, winning is a habit and so is losing.
I don't think we're actually any better than last season personally I think the league itself has dictated the place we're in rather than merit. We've got the ability and personal to really push on. Let's just hope Imbula is the missing piece of the puzzle and we start to see more consistency in performances.

After the horrors of the past two weeks, will the Mighty Potters be able to pull themselves out of a hole to secure victory against an equally inconsistent Everton side? Everton may be without Lukaku (back) and Stones (hamstring). Wollscheid and Shawcross may be in contention, but it could be too soon for either of them Will Imbula get a home debut for Stoke? -Arnautovic-----Bojan-----Shaqiri--- -----------------Afellay--------------- ----------Whelan------Imbula-------- ---Pieters--Muniesa--????----????--- -----------------Butland--------------
-----------------Diouf----------------- -Arnautovic----Bojan-----Shaqiri--- ----------Whelan------Afellay-------- ---Pieters--Muniesa--????----????--- -----------------Butland--------------- ???? because who the hell knows who will be there. Johnson? Wollscheid? Shawcross? Bardsley? Jonny Tex?

Everton like scoring goals and they have the men to do it. We topped our game earlier at Goodison and ran out winners when we were really playing well. Now, Everton are playing well, we are seriously weakened defensively and finding a goal hard to come by. Banker away win I fear.
