I personally can't see it, but they have started to play better as results show, 4 points in the last 2 games.

It'd be really hard but they need someone just on the edge to falter worse than they have to even have a good chance. They can be the boo boys for clubs like Leicester and Chelsea though. I'm okay with that.

Just can't see it myself but fair play to them for getting 4 points against Palace and Leicester...

Like I said on another thread, Leicester were just as bad at this stage last year, after 29 games they had 19 points but finished 14th on 41 points so it is possible. Getting 4 points off a team that was 5th (Palace on tuesday) and a team who are currently top is very very good. It's not 100% that they are doomed mark my words!

They need 3 other teams to be completely shite for the rest of the season (Swansea might be one), while putting a few more wins of their own on the board. The sad reality is that they could win 3 of their next 5 and still be bottom.

What was that team called last season, who stood no chance? Leicester !! They're five points worse off than Leicester were at the same stage last season. Just because one team manages a miracle escape, it doesn't mean it's going to happen every season. A quick look at the bottom placed teams in every PL season at this stage of the campaign will no doubt show that the overwhelming majority end up relegated.

This is the craziest and best Prem Leauge season in its history. Anything can happen. Personaly I think AV have had it but I said the same about Leicester last year.

I think that they could. They will have to fight like rabid dogs to do it, but on their performance today it is possible.

Based on the last 2 performances (and not just the results) I honestly think they can.
Will be difficult, no doubt, but having watched Blunderland today, they were truly woeful.
Sunderland, Swansea and Norwich if Villa do improve.

Listening to Talksport now and the general consensus seems to be that they were awful today but Leicester were poor too.
Sounds like the fans, the players and the staff know that they've gone already.

But can anyone predict anything this season in this league?

Probably not BUT it's not a forgone conclusion and who says 40 points is the target, 38 points or less has been enough keep teams up in quite a few seasons since we got promoted. Like I say it's unlikely but not impossible by any means especially the crazy season we are having this year!

I don't listen to TS. Radio 5 live is far higher quality (and not the signal strength).

Eight more wins only gets them what, 36 points?

No. They may overtake Swansea who are in free-fall, but I can't see them rise above 2 others.

I watched the game and Villa played well in the second half but pretty poor in the first.

Again, let's break it down. They've won two games since August. They need to win eight games between now and May. That's 50% of their remaining games. They're a dreadful team. They won the other night because Hennessey chucked one into his own net. For all the plaudits they didn't win tonight. I'll bet you £100 right now that it isn't going to happen.
