I mentioned on Saturday after seeing a rerun of the incident there is no way they could give a red for violent conduct and that is what a straight red is. Mason in his defence was totally shafted by Yacob the cheating twat. Isn't it about time the refs union got involved. Whilst he was wrong, he was conned by that cheating twat Yacob. Yes, he should expect certain players to try and con him more than others but still refs have a hard enough time as it is. If refs insisted on laws to ban cheats after the fact they would have to face less of it. Incidentally the PFA are shocking. One of their members basically screwing another (assuming they are both members of course). They do fuck all too.

The clincher about this is : although Cameron attempted the 'bitch slap' he either a) did not connect at all b) actually clipped the lad on the shoulder blade - if at all and the lad was a cheat -pure and simple B for sure, sure yacobs sly glance from under his elbow caught on camera helped Geoffs cause!

That's a shock because it was a 'deffo red' and Cameron was 'fucking stupid' . Isn't that right? It was stupid, especially with a knobhead like Yacob there was no need for Geoff to even get involved especially given what had gone before in the season. That said if the ref has seen it again and said he would have changed his decision (which I believe is the procedure) then it just highlights the fact the FA need to clamp down on play acting and introduce a referral system of some sort in game, similar to that of cricket. Like 1 every game. There is a law to allow them to clamp down already: There was a change introduced for this season whereby if a red card for violent conduct is overturned and the FA Commission thinks that simulation by the player contributed to the referees decision, the penalty can be transferred to the simulating player. So it can happen, but it requires the Commission to first conclude that (in this case) Cameron was not guilty of violent conduct. This would be a perfect opportunity for the FA to send out a message - and they wouldn't even need to tread on the toes of one of their favoured clubs too.

The only way we can get an ounce of justice from this is by abusing Jacob and Mason like never before when either of them are next at the brit - full on "Danny Rose" treatment.

I don't blame the ref, he's only got one look at it in a fast moving situation. Quite clearly (with the benefit of replays) he's been conned by a cheat. Yacob deserves any verbal abuse he gets.

That's the point I'm making about Geoff, by shoving a known play actor like Yacob he's risking the ref making a decision. It was naive, but the referees need more help, if he had a screen to look at he could rescind it in 10 seconds and book/send off Yacob.

Wonder if Hughes bringing a spurs player into the argument changed the fa's thinking ! Said on sky that one of their players raised a hand and flicked opposition player in the face and only got a yellow! Said he just wanted consistency with refs.hope refs target that cheating monkey spunk bubble now an give him the ban the twat deserves !!

I see where you are coming from but he couldn't have seen it. All he saw was that twat rolling around and assumed he must have been poleaxed. If he didn't see it he shouldn't have sent Geoff off. If he had seen the incident properly he would have booked Jacob.

Well I got that wrong. Hold up my hands and admit it. I genuinely believed that appealing was a waste of time. Great news.
Does this mean I can get my £39.00 x2 back as a cheat failed to deliver what I paid to watch ?

If the lost point equates to 2 league places after the weekend results how much in £'s will that cost us at the end of the season if our position is still 2 places lower.
The decision may allow GC to play tomorrow but it could be an expensive mistake come May.

A slightly different take on the incident rather than saying Geoff made it easy for the ref is to suggest that Camo (or any other player) only has a split second to react or not to react to a cynical stamp or kick. Sometimes players act in the heat of the moment and he hardly decked the cheating cunt did he. And that's what I would write to the FA if I was Sparky. Word for word.

I cannot believe it. Red card rescinded. The FA do something for Stoke and get something right? Was Greg Dyke off today? Had he enjoyed too many New Years whiskey chasers and was still recovering? I'm very confused right now.
Either way, fantastic news. Geoff has to start tomorrow. Same lineup that fucked up against West Brom but took Man Utd apart.
It's just a shame that Mason, of course, get's off. That said, Mason hasn't been the worst ref this season and all those tearing him a new cornhole are wide of the mark. He's taken charge of a few games involving us this season and was spot on in every one except Saturday.

Amazed by that news. The FA really are a law unto themselves - nothing suggested that appeal would be successful. Nice to be on the right end of it for a change! Yes I wasn't expecting that, but, keep your hands to yourself in future boys

Like 1 every game. That used to be the system but it isn't anymore. When an appeal is lodged the match ref. is not involved at all in the proceedings. The commission looks at the refs. written report on why the player was dismissed, which is produced after the game for all dismissals; it looks at the submitted written grounds of appeal and, most crucially, at the video evidence which can be from various camera angles, and is watched in slomo as many times as the Commission feels it needs to watch it to reach a decision. The commission first hears from a former ref. who reminds the commission of exactly what the relevant law of the game and the guidance on how to interpret it say, and answers any questions on that from Commission members. Once that is complete, the former ref takes no part in the decision. Despite what is sometimes said on this Board and elsewhere, in my experience it is a fair and thorough procedure.
