I know he was a good keeper when he was in his prime but he could probably keep a clean sheet every game these days cos he completely fills the goal now.

I recall him during a home game, racing out towards the corner flag to chase a ball, up against their winger. Nev lost, the ball ended up in the net, it was against someone like Tranmere and we got trounced 0-3 iirc.
To say that we got him past his prime, was an understatement.
Was it Southall that warned Chris Kamara, upon his arrival as Stoke boss, that he was joining a 'poisonous' club?

Michael Ricketts has to be in for a shout. I remember sitting in the Sentinel stand watching a match where he played and he jumped for a header, I ended up in the Waddington Suite. |

Kamara was already at Stoke when Southall joined (initially on loan) but left shortly afterwards. Its true that Nev doesnt speak highly of his time at Stoke, but thats more to do with his falling out with Alan Durban |
