How has Ireland fallen so far out of favour?
I for one feel he deserve a lot more game time.
Hughes intimated at the start of the year "he owes Ireland, who often doesn't get the games he deserves" but yet hasn't given him a chance.
We have had a lot of inconsistent performances by bojan, shaq and affelay (not today) lately yet all seem to keep getting a shirt.
Pissing me off.

I think he should start next if I'm being honest.

And me. I think he should start next if I'm being honest. Today was a perfect chance to give Ireland 35 to ease him back in. Drop him straight back in having not played in a while is a big ask and everyone's calling for his head if he doesn't score a brace.

Bojan isn't playing particularly and still looks nowhere near being able to play 60 good minutes so I think Ireland should be bought in. We can't drop Adam next week which is what I think should happen too. So this would be a good start.

Ireland a player whose reputation increases when he doesnt play No one is saying he's a world beater but he deserves a go and competition in a team gets the best out of everyone... At the moment it's all very flat and predictable

He' ll get to January without adding to that

Yeah Stephen Ireland should defo be at least on the bench, to sub last 30-40 mins.

Perhaps he doesn't train well in the week? If he'd not trained well he would be out of the squad completely wouldn't he?

Perhaps he doesn't train well in the week? I'd be surprised if that was a massive issue for Hughes.

Ireland is so much better than the other options we have to replace bojan. His omission is baffling especially as Hughes has always rewarded good performances with a place in the 11 the following week.

When Bojan is not at his best/unfit/tired etc then Ireland should be on the pitch.

He's actually appeared in 8 games this season. Now I know other than the cup that doesn't equate to much game time but other than Tottenham he, hasn't done himself many favours really.

Sorry bob but I'm going to call bollox on that. 1) if he was a poor trainer would Hughes not of known this signing him 2) Remember seeing Richards I think (teammates soccer am) saying he was the hardest trainer at the club 3) also remember Hughes alluding how hard a worker he was Maybe some people just like making up rumours
