Lets just go through it.
Cameron - played at least 5 years in MLS as a central midfielder. Hes played a few times for us in midfield and his abilties make him a good CDM.
Muniesa - admitted he can play there, experts say he can, he has the attributes to he just hasnt been tried there. Mainly due to injuries to Pieters/center backs meaning he has to stay back.
Wilson - again, hes played there before. He has experience there. Hes good on the ball and he can tackle!! Hes played a few times there before!
Walters - 300 games at right wing and striker in the Prem/Championship. 0 games central midfield.
To transfer a winger to central is very hard. Giggs, Beckham Schweinsteiger a few that did it, after losing pace, but they were all immense on the ball and with vision.
Walters is stuck on the win and upfront because his control and on the ball skills are iffy. He works hard and is a battler but he hasnt got gift on the ball
He cant tackle. theres a difference between being strong/chucking a toe in and working hard, then being a brilliant midfield destroyer. Hed be a walking card and he hasnt got the skill on the ball to perform there. Hed be fucking useless.
So is Walters in the middle daft? Of course. He will never play there ever
are Muni/Wilson/Cam daft? FAR FAR from it. Geoff might get a crack there when Ryan is back!
