Couldn't give a shit what happens to England tbh! All about Shaqiri this game 10+yrs ago, we used to slate $#!t fans for this kind of talk Maybe 10+ years ago there was an England team which actually inspired the fans, even remotely. It's a fucking farce. Now Capello is gone from Russia Hodgson is the highest paid international manager in the world*. He is getting this in return for him doing a pretty fucking poor job of it too, if I'm being generous I'd say he is average. The lineups he chooses for England are often highly questionable and his favouritism of 'fashionable' clubs is blatant. Don't get me started on how over-rated, over-paid players who half the time just seem like they can't even be bothered, they don't know what to do and generally just seem to have no fight or belief in themselves. I'm completely disenfranchised with England, I never watch their games unless it's because they're playing one of the big boys or there is a Stokie on the other team. Club football is far more important to me then international, but there is one reason I do give a shit still about international football and that is America. I'm a dual citizen, England and America and the difference of my support for both is quite stunning really. The US Mens National Team are so much more inspiring to me then England, and there are reasons; The manager, Klinsman has really inspired the United States team and has got them performing above and beyond what I believed they were capable of generally. More impressively still he has been huge in developing grass roots 'soccer' in the USA and has been amazing in getting the public behind the mens and womens national teams and therefore the American people behind Soccer in general, the sport is growing hugely over there and they are beginning to pump out some very exciting youth prospects. The team, on paper, is very average. That said they go into every game and leave everything on the pitch, they performed in the world cup far beyond anything that was expected of them and they seem to just really care, they want to be there and they want to go all the way. So that's that really, I went a bit overboard on my explanation but I do think it needs saying. I also want to make it clear that it's not a choice I'm consciously making, it's simply that one of my teams inspires hope and pride, the other inspires nothing. I don't support Stoke City, or America because I feel like I have to but because I want too. I want everyone to know that I am proud to be from the country that that team represents. It greatly saddens me that I'm often ashamed, and greatly despondent with the team that represents England however... *http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2654453/Roy-Hodgson-trails-Fabio-Capello-highest-paid-managers-World-Cup.html

Couldn't give a shit what happens to England tbh! All about Shaqiri this game So if Butland played you'd be happy for England to get beaten? If all of Shaqiri's efforts were so good they were literally unsaveable and Butland makes 25 stunning saves from other Swiss players. Then yeah I'm cool with it. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif)

Nothing, but at least any debut nerves would have been put out of the way. Will Hodgson trust a debutant goalkeeper against a better side ? I think (and I hope), although they will only be friendly's, Butland will get a chance against the likes of France and Spain who we are scheduled to play before the Euro's. Big teams with an opportunity to show everyone what he can do against the best. (without worrying too much about potential mistakes costing us) Yes, hopefully that will be the scenario for a few players to be tried out.

I don't get why English football fans say they don't give a fuck about England. Would be interesting if these same fans would have the same attitude if we got to a final. Bit like the 10,000 fans we would probably lose if we got relegated I sopose. I don't rate England myself. But have always watched them and been delighted when they win and disappointed when they lose. Not the same sick feeling I get when Stoke lose mind. England are what they are. Bit like Stoke over the years. Why support a team when they are just good but not when they are shit as well. Don't get it. But that's me

It's a quite big game. Places are ro be earned and we need to start preparing seriously. Roy has already stated he k ows the forwardline might not be what he wants so it's time to start working shit out.

I don't get all this anti England bollocks by some of the morons on here. So in the same logic would you slag Stoke off and not watch them if we went through 'bad performances' such as England have shown over recent tournaments. Anyone who wants Shaqiri to score tonight is a complete arsehole in my opinion.

Why bring Jack along, for fucks sake England have qualified you'd think any manager would want to try out some fringe players so he could get a better understanding of the quality of their squad. Hope Shaqiri has a field day tbh

The blancmange skinned penal squirt wouldn't even play Jack against a bunch of car salesmen and travel agents from San Marino, so it comes as no surprise to me.

England team: Hart; Clyne, Cahill, Smalling, Shaw; Milner, Shelvey, Delph; Oxlade Chamberlain, Rooney, Sterling.
In my 20 years as an England fan I don't think I've seen a central midfield that is that bad.
The front three look bloody exciting though.

Milner must be having an affair with Hodgson as he was totally wank against Dan Marino and Daft Delph is about as creative as Geoff Camerons wardrobe assistant ...total shite

Dont know why people expected jack to play tonight. We will want to qualify as well as possible.
He will get a chance in a pre-tournament friendly. But even if he has a stormer he isnt going to replace hart.
His time will come.
