Fair comment. Your opinion and all that. Charlie will not make more than a dozen appearances for us this year. Would you like a little 10p wager?? I will have you a little wager that Adams sending off today was absolute bullshit of the highest order. In fact I will have you as much of a wager as you can afford on this one.

There was no incident though was there? I honestly don't know. Seen it real time and it didn't look right. Do you believe it warranted a red card?

I dont think anyone will deny that Charlie can be a bit of a hot head and is prone to the occaisional bone cruncher, but he did fuck all wrong today IMO. He was having a good game up until the sending off and looked our biggest creative threat. Absolute piss-weak refereeing to send him off.

Had my head in my hands when supporters applauded Adam and Afellay off the pitch after being sent off.
"Well done chaps, your stupidity has cost us the game and left your team mates in the shit ..."

To me it seemed the WBA player had wrapped his legs around Charlie's and Charlie tried to free his foot (that was my view from 20 yards away) I haven't seen it again since but until I do, it seemed a bullshit decision and at the time I genuinely thought the West Brom player was going to get a yellow!

It was right by me, I would have sent him off with the view I had at the time looking at it once. And that's the conclusion most of us who sit where I do came to. If it wasn't then it is shit but it wasn't just the linesman who thought Adam was being a twat..... If he wasn't then I apologise but in that one view at the time, I thought he lashed out.

At the match thought not much of it a mate said he thought he'd stamped and instantly the liner came on waving his flag like he was trying to land a plane.
Having seen the replay does he fook stamp and no way does his foot take nothing than a natural position after the scissor kick and if Chelsea can appeal that sending off of the goalie and get away without a frivolous appeal ban so can Charlie!

Looked a sending off to me at time and I wasn't surprised he walked for it. Brainless idiot. Have you seen it since? It happened right in front of us and I immediately thought he was going to walk for it. I think Charlie reacted without thinking and then almost instantly wished he hadn't done it. I just can't see him (after being on the wrong end of a scissor tackle) reaching down and offering a hand of friendship for any other reason but in an attempt to disguise the dirty deed.

I thought at the time, that it wasn't but too many people were disagreeing with me so I just assumed it must have been a stamp. The I saw it on a vine, and it was a fucking joke of a decision just like I'd first thought.

Have you seen it since? Yes I have and I don't think the angle on the video is anything like as clear as it was for the people sitting in block 28 and the linesman. But that's irrelevant to the point I was making about Adam's gesture of friendship BEFORE the officials got involved. I can't see him doing that if he thought HE was the injured party.

Like Charlie, having watched the red a few times now, I can't see how a referee, well linesman can say the stamp was intentional. I guess his reputation precedes him unfortunately. Thought the initial tackle was superb at the time, just what we needed to fire ourselves up after the Affelay red.

Never a red card. Charlie has done fuck all wrong. I thought it at the time and since seeing it again I'm convinced. I agree it shouldn't be red. I am making a subjective judgement based on what I know about Adam. The officials shouldn't be doing that, they should just make a decision based on what they saw. What they saw was a bloke who was deliberately tripped by his opponent, lost his balance and then happened to step on his opponent's leg. It happened right in front of me and I was furious at the time. When the linesman first flagged I assumed it was for a foul against Dawson given he was blatantly kicking out. Having seen the replay from a slightly different angle, I think Charlie had stepped on the guy, with his full weight. I think he is being deliberately clumsy. I was quite close as well and completely agree with you. I was gobsmacked that the lino put up his flag; it looked like a tangle of legs and Charlie trying to extricate himself. The ref should have had a word with both players, possibly yellow cards, but not a red for Adam - especially with the obvious consequences on the progress of the game with an hour to go.
