Says we continue to evolve but our record against the lesser lights needs to improve (four of six home losses against teams who finished below us and only three points away to the sides who got relegated) will see us struggle to finish top half.
Says N'Zonzi is the biggest miss (describes Sevilla as best recruiters around)
Pretty fair I think?

Last season we did lose some home games we wouldn't have expected to but don't forget the win at Man City and against Arse.

I'd be happy with 11th, to be honest. A few sides underperformed last season and I am not totally convinced by our signings, either.
Someone on another thread mentioned Dembele and Lennon, and I think they would have improved us. Maybe they wouldn't have come here, but are they any less realistic than the ones we have pursued?
It's also starting to piss me off when we get high and mighty about other clubs paying a bit over the odds for a player who fits their requirements. Yes, we've done well in the bargain basement, but sometimes you have to fork out.

I guess 11th is close. However we really have to get maximum points at home to the teams at the bottom. Can we conjure up similar results away again this season such as Man City and Spurs or Liverpool and Arsenal at home to balance out those poor results? I guess we will get some answers next weekend.

It might seem like a backwards step but I'd be perfectly happy with 11th, providing we see plenty of entertaining footy and the new players start to bed in well. A cup run wouldn't go amiss either.
This is a period of transition again, with players like moha hopefully providing a very bright future in the next 2-3 seasons.
We all need to keep our heads if we start off slow, I fully expect us to with so many changes and Shawcross potentially out long term.
...I know many won't though!

I'm concerned that Didi Hamann is tipping quite a few of my selections.

The only time they've beaten us at the Britannia is when they got Shawcross sent off for his accident with the Ramsey girl.

Interesting that only two of the 8th-17th placed teams from last season have a positive net transfer figure this summer. One being Villa, who sold Benteke for £32.5m and only narrowly have a positive figure, and Stoke. Yet the tipsters in the RP tend to back us on the handicap and top half finish.
