Anybody got an opinion on the pre seasom form of any of the other premiership teams eg. who is looking hot and who is not, who is gelling and who is falling apart. Some Oaties consider pre season form of no consequence, I'm not so sure.

It means fuck all I don't get why people can't see that.
No harm in commenting on the game though and the deficiencies within that though.

My biggest concern is Hughes hasn't once picked a starting 11 pre-season that in any shape or form resembles the 11 who will play next sunday.Has he ?

Next week it doesn't matter what has gone on. Win every game 6 nil or lose them 6 nil. Means nothing.
As fans we don't know what the manager has been doing. Training session before the game for extra fitness? No training? Days rest? Tactical changes to put pressure on certain area's for extra fitness? Experimenting with different things in the side?
We just don't know, which is why they mean nothing.

What have you done with the real Bayern ???? I've long been aboard the pre-season games mean fuck all train. I mean the one today in the 20 minutes I had the misfortune of watching showed me everything I'm worried about by just looking at the players we have but I'm just hoping it's systematic of pre-season training and not having our best attack out on the pitch and missing the captain.

Liverpool seem to be knocking it around well. Look good going forward on the right. No end product as yet mind. Will be interesting come next weekend.

to my mind this weekends tourny is too close to the start of the season, pre-season to me is all about fitness and familiarity not results and todays showing had elements of dont pick up a knock in it

Hughes has probably done what he's done for the last two pre seasons, played a lot of the lads, but already has a good idea of the team he'll start with. We have the players, no doubt about that, being very slightly changed, not weakened, from last season. Pre season is just that. The real season starts next Sunday.
