Seems like a reasonable post to me. There are question marks over him hence he comes to Stoke on a free

"Let's not expect too much and see how this one pans out." No where near a slagging. It's an interview with an Olympiakos fan and a very balanced view of Afellay. {I've enjoyed other ElliotHackney articles I've read too.}

Hardly slagging him off.
He's asked the opinion of a fan who's, most likely, seen more of the player than any poster on here has in recent times.
It basically says; he could be good, he could struggle.
Pretty much what everyone else has already said.

Just seems very neagati to state all thats wrong. We should get behind him. Let's pretend he will be the next Pele instead I'm sure we will all get behind him but we clearly remain shopping in Iceland rather than M & S

Seems a reasonable assessment to me. Of course different clubs get different results. if he was the player of old, we wouldn't be getting him would we?

Just seems very neagati to state all thats wrong. We should get behind him. He also talks about what he's good at, absolutely nothing wrong with it, and the last line makes it clear he isn't having ago.

The Olympiakos fan in the article says that Afellay has been less effective on the wing, better as a no.10 type. Be interesting to see if/where Hughes plays him in Cologne. Could his primary role be Bojan back up? Guessums at the moment I know.

Bojan looked pretty "meh" on his loan spells too. Then we actually got to see him play in a Stoke shirt and...
Not the same situation by a long shot, but hard not to be at least a little optimistic about Afellay.

I think he will be great and will push Arnie to become an even better player. Shrewd signing and another player we will learn to love! Welcome to STOKE Ibra!

afellay will be one of them players that fans will love. Straight away his class will shine and we will be left wondering about how good the lad used to be. Imo this is a fantastic signing. The guy has tremendous experience. If we can get a solid centre midfielder I will be jumping for joy

I don't think anyone doubts his ability. It's his fitness record that's more of a problem. I don't think we would have signed him if it had been for a few million. It's a low risk signing with no transfer fee and can only be a suprise rather than a let down.

Good video, but the footage is all reasonably old, nothing from after his injuries.

Have we been linked with Mystic Meg?
Is she magic on the wing?
Again not an expensive signing , has potential , but might flop,
Nothing lost if he does tbh , worth a try with his skill level for sure IMO.
