Ah little Ant. I was wondering just the other day if he was still "playing". Turns out he made an enormous 90 appearances over his 12 year career.
I still don't understand why nepotism is tolerated in football. It wouldn't be in any other multi-million £ business.
This isn't just a dig at the capped one, Bruce, Ferguson, Macari, Pearson and many others I'm sure have gotten away with it.

I think it undermines the authority of the manager when they have their son in the squad. Its a no-win situation like Frank Lampard for instance. Its best if it just doesnt happen

Little Ant's just a particularly egregious example, as while you can easily bullshit in banking or journalism, conning people that you're a professional standard footballer is a little harder (though I'm sure we can all think of examples of players who seem to have got away with it... ) |
