Did any of you heathens that weren't in church this morning hear Andrew Flintoff On Desert Island Disks (it's repeated on Friday morning). A very candid interview... What was the gist of what he said? That he's not quite right & he knows it

Looking at the forecast for Cardiff we should get a full day's play in - cloudy though.

Looking at the forecast for Cardiff we should get a full day's play in - cloudy though. It could a case of win the toss and put them in .....apparently the pitch has a lot of grass on it , although it will get another cut in the morning .

Grassy pitch and cloudy. Step forwards Mr Anderson.

Isn't that what they say in situations like this. Let's ask Nasser? Then again, maybe not.

I would be more confident if Cook was just opening, and we had another Captain.

Possibly .....after all he's only 73 , pity he could not cut it as a Test quality batsman though .

Come on then Bish, what would your 11 be this morning. If we're only playing 1 spinner I'd much prefer it be Rashid.

Ok, we're nearly at the 'kick-off'. Predictions please! I'm going with 2-1 to England - but I think it could go either way. The 1st Test is massive. If England can avoid defeat and get some confidence against the Aussie quicks then we'll be fine. If we just roll over then it'll be a long hard summer. Ever the optimist I'm going England 3-1 and Stokes player of the series.

They will pick the side that played the last Test against New Zealand I should think , no chance of Rashid playing it looks like a seamer friendly Test . I would go along with that for this game although before the series is out I would like to see Rashid get a chance .

My other question - is Ali that much better with the bat than Rashid...?

That's a good question , Rashid looks a decent player but I've only seen him play limited overs cricket , I suspect Moeen is a better bat , but he's yet to have batted against this type of quality attack at this level ....as ever it remains to be seen .

Listening to Agers this morning I guess whoever wins the toss will bat.
Can see little chance of Rashid playing though.

I've got the all important bets placed...
England to win the toss. Over 1.5 runs in the first over. First wicket method - bowled.
