Step forward moussa dembele Always liked Dembele. Do you think we're in for him? If he's available, we'll be in for him for sure, regardless of n'zonzi's contract situation.

Step forward moussa dembele I think Dembele is good going forward, but his defensive skills are questionable as I see it. When it comes to Zons he certainly is much better defensively than offensively. I really can't see Dembele in Zonz role in our team, I simply don't think he will do a good enough defensive job as already said! We all see things differently but his lack of willingness to run backwards as quickly as he does forward is the one and only thing that I dont like about n'zonzi.

That's why I think Nzonzi would be daft to refuse a new deal. Hughes has already improved him going forward immensely. Another season and I think he could improve him defensively. Then his price goes through the roof, both in terms of a fee and wages. He'd be looking at telephone numbers.

I'm far more pissed off hearing about N Zonzi than the signing of the new player, I'd much prefer Zonz to stay!

If he really wants to leave for bigger and better things and refuses to sign a new deal then best to get rid ASAP. Hughesy and his team will no doubt have been semi-prepared for this eventuality based on Nzonzi's previous summer window transfer requests so we should concentrate our efforts on bringing in a suitable replacement ASAP so that the new player gets as much pre-season in with the club as possible.
If Nzonzi is determined not to sign a new deal then I think his attitude will deteriorate during the season and he could have a negative influence on the team.
As has been said no-one is bigger than the club, so he either signs a new deal or we sell him.

I would be on the phone to yohan Cabaye's agent if I was Cartwright . Palace are going after him . I'm sure there's nothing we can't match if that's his level of ambition . Arsenal were interested at one point if I'm not mistaken

Got pelters and doubters as ever for this last night but happy to lend out my ITK crystal ball and apologies accepted
This and the other failures in public around soares and Kono make Nzonzi much much harder And I can tell you with absolute certainty without hiding in bushes that deal is a million million miles from done
Now the facts are pulling kono out of he fire would help the nzonzi situation immeasurably but if bego And Huth leave and are replaced by unproven Danes and spaniards it's going to be some deal to get him to sign

He covered the most distance out of all of our players last season No 2 Geoff, No 3 SJW! I do hope that this is not linked to his non appearance at the Presentation evening - he's had a great season and it would be a boost if he stayed to play alongside, Bojan, Diouf ....... Not even 1st July yet so plenty of time to plan for a squad without him if that is the case

Cabaye or Dembele would be good replacements IMO. Or yet another out of the blue signing by Hughes and the pizza boys.
Stoke City will continue to improve with or without Nzonzi.

Cattermole will be a fine replacement.

We can't have this attitude from N'zonzi either he signs or fucks off; he's a good player but his ego is driving his demand no one player is bigger than the Club. Quite right. IMO the root cause is an ambitious father, who has visions of his son playing for PSG and captaining France. It wouldn't be the first time an over-bearing father has spoilt his son's career through his greed for basking in reflected glory.

I don't understand the vitriol towards him or his dad. They have every right to see how high they can go. Who worth having would be happy with not seeing how high they could go?
10 million would be a good starting point, and if nothing happens you get a hungry player for next year with an extra year to prepare for his loss if he moves on. Simple imo.

Every year we get a transfer request from our Steven, but he's looked happier than ever this year. I reckon he does it just to test whether the club really want him. A couple of top signings, a decent pay-rise, and he'll sign up with us again in time for next year's mini-drama when his dad jets off another email.

Keeping nzonzi is absolutely vital. If we don't bring another player in and sign him up for 3 years it will be a fantastic window. Come on stoke twist his arm. Our team is built around him

Simple imo. TBH I don't think there is any Vitriol towards him, as a player anybody with eyes in their head can see he's exceptionally good and has had a great season, which any Potter applauds; but what is annoying is this self driven (Dad driven?) search for fame. If he is as good as he/his dad thinks he is, Clubs will be tracking him and making offers, to not sign a new contract, for a Club who has brought him on is plain avarice and no I don't think he's worth £10 million hence the lack of offers.
