Roll on Friday, as there campaign slogan says, "Love the past, play the future". My first PES game since PES 6 on PS2. Since then I think the FIFA games have dominated but this year PES looks the business, full edit mode to! PESMaster has all the PES 2016 faces, stats etc uploaded now. Stokes lineup is below, www.pesmaster.com/st-red/pes-2016/team/395/I presume all summer transfers will be in place once released.

PESWorld has released a video of there Premier League kits update for PES 2016, looks fantastic. My only concern is with all these user edits I presume they will only work in offline modes only as when playing online what if the opponent doesn't have the edits?

As far as I know in online you see the kits you've edited/downloaded.

And FIFA will still sell millions more copies.

Well you've just stated the obvious. FIFA has dominated the footballing genre since the PS2 days, that and a lot of FIFA fans are to narrow minded and short sited to buy anything other than FIFA (Because it has real the Brit!!11!!) means the sales will obviously be higher.
The fact that it will sell millions more does not deter from the fact that PES is getting rave reviews.

Played the PES demo and thought it was horrific. I've wanted an alternative to FIFA for a while because I hate all the scripting and lack of effort put in by EA but PES is nowhere near being the answer for me.
Are the referees supposed to be that ridiculously bad or had they just not got onto them by the time the demo was released?

From what Konami have announced this could be their last PES. Too many of their AAA titles go overbudget and they're focusing on the mobile gaming market.

Konami have indeed said that they're no longer putting money into AAA games... apart from PES which they will continue to produce.
Let's hope they cash in and sell the MGS franchise and Fox Engine to a developer that'll utilize it properly.
Back to PES, having played the full game now it's a vast improvement over the previous years but to call it "the best footballing game ever" as IGN have done is way over the top.

So I've had a chance to play the full game now and all I can say is I just don't get it. Why people are raving about the gameplay. It's awful. It takes an age to power up a pass or shot, by which time you've been tackled. If you just tap the button then it just does some pathetic tap 2 yards in front if you. FIFA is so much better to play. Even FIFA 15 which wasn't the best for gameplay is so much smoother than PES. I can pass the ball around so much faster on FIFA. PES is totally unplayable for me. I've lost every match I played online. While I don't try to claim to be the world's best FIFA player I can hold my own against most opposition. Even ignoring all the no licences etc i hate about PES the game on its gameplay alone is absolutely awful. Roll on Friday for FIFA.

It takes an age to power up a pass or shot, by which time you've been tackled. Well that's the point, it's realistic. If you want to make a powerful pass across the pitch you've got to pull your leg back before you hit it to put power in, so it's not going to be instantaneous. FIFA makes it far too easy to just ping the ball all over the place with zero effort.

My biggest criticism is the goal keeper AI it's beyond terrible. Almost every game I play online in myClub is a cricket score with almost every attack leading to a goal for both players.
Also while it's not a major problem for me personally to not have the summer transfer updates in place upon release is plain lazy and is stopping a lot of people from starting their Master League until it's correct.

After much deliberation I've gone with pro evo this year.

I bought Pro Evo thinking it would be better but I've sacked it off and gone back to Fifa. I love MyClub mode it's a lot better than FUT in my opinion but the goalkeeping is horrendous and the multiplayer is region locked which sucks if you play with overseas people. If they can sort out those two issues and polish up the menus a bit (it's so rigid compared to fifa) I would call it a worthy winner.

I've decided against buying any football game this year as I found FIFA 15 boring.
Thanks for reading.

Just got this for Christmas (ordered at the start of December, cancelled a few days ago and now the replacement arrived ). Very impressed compared to FIFA. Any recommendations on where to download the options file from for the Xbox One please?
