Wilson and Whelan start. Westwood; Coleman, Wilson, O'Shea, Brady, McCarthy, Whelan, Hendrick, McGeady; Murphy, McGoldrick England: Hart; Jones, Cahill, Smalling, Bertrand; Henderson, Wilshere, Milner; Lallana, Sterling, Rooney Jones at RB. Smalling in the middle. FFS Don't know if Walters is on the bench? Dont get the wilshire slagging off. Not a likeable lad for most people but undoubtedly got class. Unlike phil jones

Dont get the wilshire slagging off. Not a likeable lad for most people but undoubtedly got class. Unlike phil jones Yeah I'm with this when it comes to playing for England. By all accounts Ricardo Fuller was an absolute cock but there's no doubting his ability and legend status for Stoke. Same with Sterling, when he plays for England I'll support him and hope he uses his undoubted ability to benefit the country. However when he plays against Stoke, dogs abuse.

Difficult to get behind when you have a manager who picks llalana, Henderson, smalling, jones, in his team andplays wilshire as a defensive midfielder. England are always years behind tactically

How bad was Smalling there?
...and if he was with Stoke, where would he be in the pecking order at centre back? Certainly behind Ryan & Muni & Huth. I would also think Wilson. Possibly behind Wooly and Cameron too?

I still can't get my head around how we didn't win anything back in the early 2000s with the likes of beckham, scholes, Cole, neville and co.

I still can't get my head around how we didn't win anything back in the early 2000s with the likes of beckham, scholes, Cole, neville and co. Germany 2006 was the biggest failure. We could and should have made the final of that tournament but the golden shower generation failed to turn up.

How much has Sterling turned down?
Is he better than early SWP, early Lennon, or Tony Daley?
Or Ruel Fox?

I still can't get my head around how we didn't win anything back in the early 2000s with the likes of beckham, scholes, Cole, neville and co. Tactical incompetence. We had one of the best midfielders in the world who could dictate play, paul Scholes who retired because he was disgracefully played in the flank positions.we have alwys had clueless managers.
