Hull's economy would be helped massively by an EU withdrawal in relation to the common fisheries policy. An EU-NO vote would kick-start the currently almost non-existent and once proud fishing industry.
Bizarrely, the £1billion SRB fund is likely to have come from the EU....go figure.

Or diversely start another ' cod war ' but this time involve the whole of the EU member states fishery vessels and not just those from Iceland. You can't just walk away from signed treaties and expect other countries to comply . It's just not as simple as that. We don't have enough fishery protection vessels to police our waters for a start off , and it would definitely get rather nasty and heated .

Seriously, we could do a large amount of the policing using UAV's (drones) couldn't we? Surely that would dramatically cut down the need for expensive fully crewed vessels?

Perhaps we should have a big bridge too. How about a Burslem and Tunstall flyover?

Perhaps we should have a big bridge too. How about a Burslem and Tunstall flyover? On reflection I think that this would be a bd idea as visitors from abroad wouldn't be able to absorb the scenic beauty of Tunstall & Burslem or embrace the cultural charm of the place . People enjoy this ....they like to see the locals going about their business as they have done for generations . They like to sample Potteries Fayre and use the local taxis to further their cultural experience even more ..... >

Can you imagine what visitors would say if open topped bus tours through the City were organised pointing out 'cultural hotspots'

Can you imagine what visitors would say if open topped bus tours through the City were organised pointing out 'cultural hotspots' A visitor to Hanley once stopped me in the street, and asked me where the nice bit was? I was outside the Museum at the time, so I told him that he had already found it.

There's a bit more to that story, they guy's blond dolly bird wife, then got out of the car and asked me, "where in the city, was Ann Frank's house?" Her husband nearly died on the spot, told her to get back in the car, and left.
