I always thought we were a bit quick to get him off the books, he ran his knackers off for us and scored some goals for us off the bench

The modern day Robert Earnshaw.

He did absolutely fine for us and there was times under Pulis when he should've been used far more often than he was. In terms of what our ambitions are though we probably let him go at the right time, he's a proper grafter with pace to burn but he's not technically good enough for our style of play now. Can't knock what he's achieved at Norwich this season though, I'm sure he'll do a job again for them next season.

I can't help but think he found his level in the championship. Watched the game today and like Diouf he 'runs his knackers off' the big difference id I think Diouf's runs are more intelligent.

When Norwich come to the Brit I would want a warm welcome for Jerome. Under used by previous mamagement. Cameron always gave it everything for us., never forget that goal against Southampton to make it 3-3!

The modern day Robert Earnshaw. Yep. Not good enough for the Prem. Too good for the Championship. I liked him. Just about the only thing worth watching in Pulis' last season.

Good striker's goal but keeper will be very disappointed.

Perhaps he has improved his game since leaving us, a view worthy of Consideration perhaps.

His goals to minutes ratio meant he should've got more chances here than he did.

Perhaps he has improved his game since leaving us, a view worthy of Consideration perhaps. Confidence in knowing that he is a regular starter? Having said that he was never as effective for us when he started games as he was when used as an impact sub. Next season will be an interesting one for Jerome to see if he can cut it at the top level, personally I have my doubts ,but you can bet your bottom dollar he scores against us.

He's scored 21 this season but not featured in all games as they have 4 decent championship strikers on their books. That's not bad
He's definitely got an eye for goal.
He was never really given a run here, and there are strikers who need regular games to hit their peak. Lets see how he fares. I know he's been written off here but will be interesting to see if he gets that run with Norwich.

Limited player with tremendous pace.
Can't help but think that Championship is about his level, anything higher just seems to be a glass ceiling for him.
Saying that, he showed capability for the spectacular and I think he should have been given a fairer chance to show what he was capable of. Maybe now he will get that last chance. Good luck to him.

Hahahha yeah, that used to be the norm but perhaps the old rules no longer apply now.... things seem to have changed but some of us have been a Stoke fans long enough not to count any chickens.

I would have preferred CJ on the bench than John Spaghetti that season.

It'll be interesting to see what he does next year like it's been said hes too good for the championship but not quite premiership quality. I think Dioufs better and whilst he's more mobile than Crouch I think Crouch is a better plan B so it was right to let him go.

Rumour has it Sparky fucked him off sharpish after he found out he was betting against Stoke in the latter stages of the Tony Pulis era.

Rumour has it Sparky fucked him off sharpish after he found out he was betting against Stoke in the latter stages of the Tony Pulis era. Never heard that..........out of interest, where did you hear/see those rumours? I remember that he was in the media criticising the Pulis a few times in his last season with us and therefore I thought Hughes might have doubted his commitment and loyalty. It was clear Hughes got rid of him without his having a chance so given the players he did keep it had to be something to do with his attitude.

He's scored a fair few Prem goals for someone 'not good enough'. has he Rob??? 30 in nearly 180 games in the Prem (with the bulk of them being before 2010 i.e.when he was young!)....is 1 in 6 really that much to shout about?

Found his level in the champ, we were right to let him go! Nowhere near good enough. What a load of garbage. He had the best goal start ratio of any striker we had at the time. He's scored 10 premier league goals in a single season for birmingham, scored countless crucial goals for us while scoring one or two crucial goals for Palace under Pulis (one away at everton springs to mind). Not good enough for the premier league? Hang your head in shame.
