Would anyone like to see Hughes try and sign him, he's available on a free. Has all the attributes maybe just lost his way?

Didn't they fall out when Hughes was managing Man City?

yes they did fall out
Does that really mean owt though?
Tripier is the obvious choice but Richards on a free is tempting surely?

He can also play at centre back aswell so it means we could even sell Wilson or someone to bring in money and lose wages that way potentially. On a free he's another who could have been England's captain for ten years..I'd be tempted we could always pay a signing on fee to bring his wages down would possibly suit all parties.

Good player but has a whiff of the Owen, Gudjonsen, Woodgate signings about it.
Deffo go for Trippier if we are in with a shout. Solid and technical without being a fanny.

10 appearances in a season, he's either not very good or injured.

10 appearances in a season, he's either not very good or injured. Not being up to Man City standard doesn't make you a poor player. I'd sign him if possible as on a free it allows us to spend more elsewhere.

I may be wrong, but I get the impression that there is a touch of the Sol.Campbell's about him.

I am sure i read/heard somewhere that coaches got very frustrated with Micah... didn't seem to have the ability to understand what coaches were asking him to do... i.e. not the sharpest tool in the box... Hughes (and his backroom staff) have experience of dealing with him, if they want him - then on a free I'll guess we will be in for him, If they give a wide berth, then they know why

Yes without doubt, i'd take him over Wollscheid as centre back for starters then to be a good right back aswell if needed. no brainer for me. Some players seem to raise their game playing for Stoke for some unknown reason, if he can raise it 20 % towards his former form we'd have a belting player on our hands but it remains to be seen what Hughes thinks of him & you would imagine he'd know best with that one because he's worked with him before

I think he may be injury prone but he is a good player.

Why would wages be an issue? He is out of contract. + he is on record as stating he is aware he won't be getting the same wages at a new club as he has at Man City.
However he has done bugger all to impress for a while now, there may be attitude probelms,he has had injuries. If we did sign him it would be a dogs home signing. Given his age & his early promise I think - providing injuries have cleared up & his attitude has changed (i.e. he's grown up,which he probably has/people do even footballers) - it would be worth a shot.
I'd still sign Trippier anyway
move Bardsley on (if possible) & that leave Geoff as cover for 3 positions.

I think he'll end up at West Ham perhaps if they can't get Jenkinson for a good price, or Saints if Clyne goes (as I think they're our main competition for Trippier perhaps).

Wouldn't be surprised to see Austin sign for Southampton this summer, I'd like to think we would be in for Austin, the amount of goals he has scored for that poor side is never right. Was it Steve Bruce who tried to sign him previously to bring to the Premiership but Austin failed a medical?

Id prefer Trippier for me he's on the up whereas Richards is on the down and I think injuries have taken there toll. Id imagine Richards still think hes worth 100k a week plus too.
