Paul Maguire's debut was impressive from memory. Scored from a long range free-kick as well. Went on to become a target of the boo-boys before single-handedly saving us from relegation with 4 goals against Wolves in his final match for us.
His link-up with Hudson that season was as effective in an understated kind of way as the as the one between Hudson and Greenhoff 10 years earlier.

Was gonna say the Paul Maguire's debut myself, scored one, and set one up in the 3-0 defeat of Leeds United!!! Then he injured his back, became known as Billy Glassback and soon became a bit of a target for the Boo Boys, like you say!!! As for the Hudson debut, just slightly before my time sadly, would have loved to have seen Huddy in his prime with Stoke!!!

We were rooted to the bottom of the league, and looked hopeless. Hudson set foot on the pitch and every player seemed to lift their game massively. Suddenly there were one-twos going on all around, and Arsenal just didn't know what was going on. We won 1-0 and somehow stayed up after looking doomed. Ridiculous to think he only got two England caps. Shameful doesn't do it justice.

Mark Chamerlains debut was something special, he tore then England left back, Kenny Sansom, a new arsehole that day.

did he come on as sub and score or was that john Tudor It was big Bren-scored 10 seconds after coming on with his first touch from a corner. Think it was officially timed at 2 seconds as the ball was dead when he took to the pitch. Probably doesn't get the plaudits he deserves from Stoke fans. Very effective player at both ends of the pitch.

Dadason's debut was great, but the most important debut by far was Souleyman Oulare who put his arse in the right place at the right time.

Dadason's debut was great, but the most important debut by far was Souleyman Oulare who put his arse in the right place at the right time. I called it that the game was made for him to step off the bench and score a dramatic late winner. He did just that and I turned to my mate and said he may as well retire from Stoke now as it won't get any better than that. It's not easy being right so often you know...,.

Billy Whitehurst had a great debut as did Dave bamber. Keith Scott also impressed on debut.
All were worse than absolutely wank.

Scott looked quite handy at first then it became obvious he was more like a big eared boy we'd picked up off a farm and asked if he fancied playing football with the boys from the next village.
