Would be hilarious if they did but will the FL have the bollox to stick to their own rules if they don't pay the £40m fine for breaking Financial Fair Play rules when promoted?

If they were, I bet they blame Hughes.

Let's hope so. They've blatantly stuck 2 fingers up at the Championship and cheated there way back into the PL. Let's see what "fight it" Fernandes says, if they get let off lightly then I could see a real can of worms being opened up and numerous law suits from other clubs. One things for sure they shouldn't be allowed to do it again.

The FL won't have the bollox. They could use it as an example but will crumble under the focus of global media attention and the London media screaming for leniency.

Love the fact they will be relegated today.
Awful club, a skid mark on society.

5 year transfer embargo would see them nicely in the conference south, thats if the conference want them.

Hopefully unless they cough up £40m

Even if they do cough up 40m its a year too late and they thought they could be smart and avoid paying it because they could stay in the PL. Surely there should be an additional punishment like an embargo. That 40m should hopefully show in there figures and they should have to balance it out by selling.

We can but hope.
It won't happen though.
The legal wrangling's would go on so long as to adversely affect the start of next season.

I'd imagine that, if the Football League don't stick to their rules and try to enforce the penalty already imposed, they (the Football League) will find themselves being subjected to legal challenges by all the other clubs in the Championship. And they'd be foolish noty to stick to their rules. If they don't, how will they be able to enforce ANY future penalty imposed on any other league club?

They pride themselves on having a rule for some and a totally different one for others.

It would be an absolute pisser but its never going to happen. The FL aren't going to kick out one of its biggest clubs (for next year) It would seriously diminish the selling point of the Championship if they did. Plus they haven't got the bollocks or the cash to take Fernandez on. I assume some compromise will be reached involving the payment of part or all the fine and a bit of a slap on the wrist and warning as to their future behaviour. Still we can but dream

True - but they would find LEGAL challenges from all Championship clubs very costly and I'd imagine there would be a good chance that they would lose in court. It is one thing to not impose a penalty for an alleged transgression - you can argue that an independent panel made the decision in good faith. But to fail to ENFORCE a penalty which was imposed, and which was avoided simply because QPR got promoted (out of the jurisdiction of the league) would leave the league on very dodgy legal ground. Legally it is a bit like a prisoner who is sentenced to x years imprisonment and then escapes on the way to prison and goes on the run. When he is recaptured he goes to jail and serves the original sentence. Should be fun to watch, methinks!

And now Sandro can't play due to Visa issues.
Deduct all points from the games he played in and Burnley might still be safe!
