I've heard that stoke are deciding between another friendly abroad (Europe) or a big name friendly at the Brit to occupy the final weekend before the season starts!! I'm hoping it's the away option, been travelling abroad for pre season for the past 13 years, and they are some of the best days you'll have supporting your team!! Freiburg was a fine choice last year and I'm hoping for something similar, apparently stoke will only take the home friendly option if it really is a Big name opposition!!

Wrexham is a good fixture to have, and not to far away.

linkWith regard to the preparations for the new season is now clear that the 1. FC Köln will end the test phase with a four-team-tournament in their own stadium. On August 1 and 2 the Colonia Cup will take place at the RheinEnergie Stadium. Executives from the FC Valencia and Stoke City have been chosen as a participant. The fourth team, which may also involve an international opponent, is still being sought. "A week before the first round of the DFB Cup, the Colonia Cup will be the highlight of our preparation. We look forward to three attractive teams that guarantee a real endurance test with an international flair ", Jörg Schmadtke commented.

Nice 'news-scoop' by the way!
