I don't think it is, at every turn when Wollscheid and Shawcross are fit they've been seleced whatever the situation with the others. I don't like it one bit. It's a shame, because before the injury Muniesa was really starting to look like the real deal. And having someone who could bring the ball out of defence like he could was an added bonus. I'm quite happy with Wolly though. Other than the lack of pace, I can't see what's wrong with him. Looked fairly good again today and for a big guy, he is fairly good on the ball too. He's ok, I just don't think he's a patch on Muni, not even close tbh.

Muniesa will not and should not play cdm. Crouch has all the attributes to be a goalkeeper, doesn't mean he'd know what the fuck he was doing if the manager put him there.

While there are plenty of examples of crossover between CDM and CB Hughes has had plenty of chances in the last two years to give him a go there and hasn't bothered.
He's looked fantastic at CB this year, we went 8 games in a row not conceding while he was on the pitch at CB and for me that's where he plays, he's better than Wollscheid

Plave, I don't think we have ever gone 8 games without conceding. I like Muniesa at CB, but I don't see that Wollscheid has done anything wrong. In fact both Wollscheid & Muniesa saved their worst games for the same time,Manchester City & Blackburn.Boskamp has rightly pointed out that Muni lacks discipline for the CDM role, but against Man C. he lacked discipline at CB. I don't think the decision is as straight forward as Bayern seems to think.

That's why I have such a big issue with it because I think it's massively wrong and I think something is massively wrong I tend not to keep it to myself. Re Man City I thought Muni played really well bar the one goal but that negates it all because it was such a bloody stupid mistake. Wolly is clearly a decent player but I don't overly trust him and think he's awkward. He's just not the sort of defender I like, he's a big fanny, I like balls on the line defenders. But it's clear that Hughes thinks he's part of the starting XI, I never will.

Good football players can play anywhere - by no means an unreasonable shout actually
I think Muniesa has got all the attributes to play in a defensive midfield role - hes more mobile and passes the ball better than Glenn too -if truth be told
saying all that Glenn Whelan has been superb for us - long may it continue
(stupid, needless, goal conceding challenges from behind - need cutting out though)

What injuries at Centre Back? Clear as day that Ryan/Wolly first choice Muni is injured or has been and is just coming back. He had a fitness test on the pitch yesterday.

We had a spell before Christmas where when he was on the pitch at CB we didn't concede, including the arsenal game where he went off injured at 0-0. I'm pretty sure it was 8 games before we conceded with him on the pitch.

Always wondered whether he'd be any good in Whelan's position, it would definitely be worth a try! He probably couldn't do any worse.

Give Muni 10-15 game run at centre back and I'm sure we'd have a player a lot of the national press would drool over.
We should look to buy a real top quality dm this summer to give Whelan time on the subs bench.

Has he ever played a second of his career as a central midfielder? It doesn't matter. It's not his position and he sees himself as a centre back. For God's sake
