Based on being a free transfer, it's possibly merited.

Well done Diouf. He hasn't always been brilliant, but he's scored enough goals to be classed as a good signing.
It's a bit of a hotchpotch of a list though. It's a bit silly mixing Diouf in with Fabregas, Sanchez and Costa for a signing of the season list, because they're just not comparable at all.

Once Bojan is in the team, Diouf's real worth will be there for all to see. He'll stretch the game so our little magician can can have the space to play. Losing Bojan has left us playing a more compressed, shortened form of the game i believe Hughes wants to play. Ireland has oodles of talent, but not the pace or the attacking intent
I remain convinced that Bojan & Diouf will be a fantastic strike force for Stoke going forward.

None of them are worth their obscene transfer fees or wages
but think Diouf is doing well, all things considered

also worth noting is Diouf's penchant for wearing his socks ankle/mid shin height. None of this over the knee nonsense for him. Nails.

While I'm happy for Diouf to be there, the whole list went out the window when Diego Costa was placed 3rd. I know the Daily Arse... sorry, the Daily Mail has to tow the line, but really? Costa has been absolutely out of this world at times this season. He's a nasty fuck, but he's an absolutely world class striker.
Sanchez is a great player, but he would be 3rd or 4th in my list. He's lifted Arsenal single handedly but there's been a few games where he hasn't even turned up. I seem to remember him barely touching the ball at the Britannia apart from his run past Shawcross.

Bar the odd nutjob on here I'd say most Stokies and neutrals would say he's done a decent job in his first season despite being in and out of the team, playing largely out of position and fitting in an ACN in the middle.

It's a daft list full-stop. They discounted one of the Southampton players on the grounds that he cost 11 million, yet included some household names who cost several times that amount. Either it needs to be a list of the best bargains (like Diouf), or a list of the best new players (like Costa). They mixed the two criteria with the - if we're honest - laughable result that Diouf is put on the same pedestal as some of the world's finest players. Nevertheless, a nice bit of recognition for a hard-working and likeable player.

You think it's just on here? He gets a load of shit where I sit and you can tell with the general crowd (imo anyway) that he's not that well liked.

In addition Diouf will do all of his running for him. In many ways a poor man's Danny Welbeck.

If you're not God, then you can guarantee that a good percentage of Stoke supporters are going to rubbish you. But leaving them aside, well done, Diouf. This should be a nice confidence booster and make him jump a little higher when he does his next cartwheel. And well done Hughes for snagging him.

I think if we could morph the best bits of all our 4 strikers into 1 player, there would still be posters that would 'write him off'.

Always seems to put a shift in. Notched a few goals. A bit of a mard but apart from that I can't see why anyone would dislike him.
