I was, with my old man and fiancee but strangely remember the Sunday open top bus parade more than the game itself. I bought the dvd a few years back to recall the game itself and still watch it with great pleasure. Two weeks before my wedding day as well. Hope it won't be long before another trophy goes in the cabinet.

Hope it won't be long before another trophy goes in the cabinet. the open top bus ride was monumental I remember random incidents from the game Terry Conroy's white legs striding down the left wing Alan Bloor's brutal challenge on Chris Garland. Would have been a straight red these days Micky Bernard's suicidal back pass John Marsh looking for his contact lens Gordon Banks punching the ball without goalkeeping gloves I also remember thinking that guy Hudson looked a decent player!

Went to the second replay (4th match) when we beat West Ham. Spent all my pocket money on the semis and couldn't afford tckets for the final.

Although I wasn't there I still remember Geroge Eastham's goal from the TV. George rarely scored more than one goal a season so that one was very special.

I was there as a little 11 year old kid with my late Dad.
Will never forget that day and the whole experience, it was only either my second or third season going to the match and I thought this Wembley lark is easy!

Having begun supporting Stoke in 1967, the 1972 LCF was actually my first ever game! A very lucky eleven year old whose uncle managed to get two tickets in the Stoke end. A momentous initiation.

I was there. Lived in Wales at the time, had to travel back to Paddington on the tube with loads of dejected Chelsea fans who were so certain they were going to win.

43 years today How many on here were there? Certainly was - 11 years old - one of five piled into my old fella's VW beetle. Was my second visit to Wembley - had been previous year for the FA Cup final - my old fella worked with Jackie Marsh's brother and after the loss in the semi replay not many at Stoke fancied taking up their ticket allocation so we got given a pair. To think my hatred of Arsenal started all those years ago - so much so that on the day I even bought a Liverpool rosette (remember them) as I was - and still am - a fan of anyone playing those bastards. And strangely I remember more of that game (was right behind the Charlie George goal) than I do of the LCF. Just goes to show how bitter and twisted football can make you!

I was there the previous year as well, at the opposite end to you. I remember watching Charlie George jogging between the penalty spots not making the slightest effort, whilst Armstrong and Radford were running their tails off. I remember thinking what a lazy sod you are George, it's no wonder you are not in the England side. The next thing that happened was the ball was centred and he hit it on the volley straight into the net. Golden Goal!!! - fat lot I know!

Always wore the RAF great coat to Stoke, Afghan for other social occasions! It was bloody cold, and I am sure I remember some ne'er do wells "Liberating" a lot of bottles of milk early in the morning. We queued up for a voucher at the Boothen turnstiles with local kids nipping into the queue and flogging them! Managed to get my late Dad to pick us up from the ground by getting him to cut out the programme tokens, so he got a voucher from the ticket office with a 2 minute wait.
There were several queues that year, also for semi finals - happy days (but thank the lord for t'internet today)

I was there. I was at university in London at the time. My father had a season ticket but, at 76, he didn't fancy the trip to London so he let me have his final ticket. I travelled out from London with the Chelsea fans (incognito)and met my brother at the ground. I can still remember what a dump the old Wembley was. One of the greatest days for a Stoke supporter, rivalling the FA Cup semi v Bolton.

It's high time we won something else I don't want to be in an ever dwindling group of a League Cup Winners Survivors Club.
Our younger fans deserve a Great Day like that was in their lifetime.

I was there and at the semi as a 14 year old. Made both trips on the Green Bus from Uttoxeter. A great memory and one I could relive 11 years or so later when I played footy with John Marsh for a season in Utch. By the way, that's my mugshot dead centre of the souvenir programme. If anyone has a copy to sell let me know. I've been after one for years! Attachment Deleted

I was there with my Family, sadly Mum and Brother no longer with us but me and my Dad still going strong with Dad just celebrating his 70th season watching Stoke Main things i remember - Mum in red and white trouser suit with massive stoke rosette with silver cup on it
- Plastic red and white bowler hats
- Plastic red and white rattles
- Paid about £5 for posh seat by Royal Box which ended up being a wooden bench that nearly snapped at full time with all of us standing on it
- TC scoring early on and we were in dreamland
- The build up to the winning goal, the cross, the shot, the save and goal from the rebound
- I bought a 12 inch record of the full commentary of the game and kept it for years playing it once a month can't remember who did commentary Hugh Johns was on it but main commentary by Simon ??
Happy Days
