I don't understand why he's been automatically installed as the favourite for every single job since the summer. No need for him to work hard and make his way up from the lower leagues after building his reputation and demonstrating his abilities, he deserves to walk straight into a big job like the Villa one on the basis of a few months as Spurs caretaker.
I think it's that sense of entitlement that annoys me. It's the same as Di Matteo, who found himself very popular despite his only Premier League experience being a 6 month spell rooted to the bottom of the table with Brazil and a few months as assistant manager to John Terry at Chelsea.

Di matteo, in fairness, did a good job at MK Dons and wba. He is seemingly doing a decent job in Germany as well.

Sherwood is a mouthy prick who says the things the fans want to hear and will give the press what they want with his embarrassing rants but tactically he's useless and will be found out soon enough at this level. His description of Villa's electrifying training was amusing as yesterday the fuckers had a power cut.

Sadly for him, they didn't and they didn't

So you don't rate Les as a decent manager then?? Hughes came to us having gained plenty of premier league experience. I would like to think that our club would not take a risk on a manager who has barely any experience as a manager. If i were a villa fan, i would be very disappointed to sign Tim Sherwood without him having any real concrete experience. I think they should have gone for someone like Mick McCarthy. Tim Sherwood may do well, but it is a massive risk given the position they are in. Where do i say i don't think Hughes is a decent manager? That is just a ridiculous comment. Pulling your leg mate. You said Sherwood should have plyed his trade in lower divisions like any decent manager. Just implying that Les didn't do this and yet he has been a good manager wherever he has served, exception being QPR but he did save them from relegation before being sacked.

In fairness to him, he did at least learn his trade at a smallish football nation and impressed enough here to earn his chance, so it's fairly similar.

He looked all fresh faced and bright eyed before the game, after, doing his pressers his eyes were red and he looked drawn and stressed to fuck, just like he did before he left Spuds. Management isn't for everyone that has played the game. And he 's a tool.

Sad to say I have just given up my season ticket to take up a job position in Hong Kong.
Glad to say I resigned from Aston Villa FC medical staff to take the HK job.
Tim Sherwood is a wanker and Villa are going down!!!
GO ON STOKE! GO ON STOKE! GO ON STOKE!

I don't know what it is with Sherwood. The media are desperate to try and portray him as the new Harry Redknapp. Laaandan boy with links to a Laaandan club, the media automatically propel him to the level of the likes of Mourinho and Guardiola just because he is a laaaandoner and won the Premier League title once. He will have walked by the start of next season.

The bloke was looking forward to the media fest following (in his mind) a win and his adulation as the saviour of Villa. It was great to see him like a deflated balloon after th loss and the realisation that he has accepted a near impossible job....the smug twat.

He has the look about him of a long distance lorry driver. The sort that kills prostitutes every Thursday afternoon. 200 miles from home.
There is something very, VERY not right about him. Two week ago he thought, and QPR thought he had that job sown up. Until they interviewed him and err, had second thoughts.
I'd like to get the odds on him getting sacked from Villa without a solitary PL win to his name. Possibly by the end of March. We can but dream.

If he had any sense he would have credited Stoke for a dogged away performance but by saying that we were very poor [also] made Villa appear incapable of beating a very poor side at home. He's not even astute enough to play the media game. The stupid deluded twat.

He once had a few matches in charge of Spurs; a good team, already flying high. While there, he delivered a largely expected set of results. But managing a successful club, already doing well, for a handful of games is not the same as picking up a struggling club, with years of under investment and a toxic culture of bullying and bomb squad players.
Villa have given him no chance. They should have made the decision in January when he could have bought a few players. My guess is that they had no intention of investing in the squad, they want someone to come in and make a bottom three team suddenly play like a top four team, because anything less, will not be enough to save them.
Time will tell, but time is also running out. Burnley have got stuck in and are grinding out results. Leicester are doing similar, You have to think Hull and Sunderland know how to scrap their way to safety. In the meantime, Sherwood said he was coming to get Stoke. Whooooah little Timmy, do you really think Stoke, of all teams, would get psyched out by that. It's like Julian Clarey saying he's going to kick your arse.

Sherwood said that losing at home to Stoke City was as low as he has felt in football. Asked if this was really one of his lowest moments in football, Sherwood replied 'Yeah, it's low. I'm low tonight'.
Instead of 'I thought we played well, I thought we showed character, we lost to a good Stoke City side', etc etc, he says this shit. All the while looking as if he will burst into tears at any moment. Really? Villa fans have to be just fucking thrilled right now.

What do you think he should target? 3 wins? 2? It's called showing ambition I doubt he is trying to be realistic...

Hard to disagree. However such turnarounds do happen. Hodgson did it with Fulham for e.g. If they can get a win soon they might get some momentum. Last game is v Burnley at Villa Park. Could be a monster game. Or it could be Villa are already down by then.
