Looks like it's crashed and burned. Metacritic summary of 63/100 from 22 reviews, Eurogamer review was pretty shocking and IGN gave it a 6.5, Gamespot a 5, dunno what's going on with PS4 exclusives at all, all hype no quality for most

Bloodborne's going to be the first big PS4 exclusive.

The game has crashed and burnt because of a few bad review scores? I don't think so.
The PS4 has sold over 18 million consoles world wide this game will sell well into the millions which will be seen as a success for the developers and Sony.
Some of the reviews are also ridiculous, one site gave it a 1 out of 5, really?
The main reason this is getting slated is due to it's short campaign and lack of multiplayer or coop. Some of the best games I've ever player were single player only, Silent Hill 2 and Bioshock so I don't see the problem in being single player.
The foundations are there for this game now, the engine, character designs and so forth so I expect the game to push on in next releases featuring multiplayer and co-op.
I've got the game coming tomorrow and I'm looking forward to playing it. Shall leave a honest opinion if you guys would like.

It's for the best that this doesn't sell, this isn't the direction I want games to go in. Where's the gameplay?
Fair enough if it's trying to be cinematic, but Last Of Us managed to be just as cinematic while also managing to be one of the greatest games of all time.

JSU Fan before the review scores even came out I had a feeling it would be a bit wank. I read a fair few previews of the game and they all seemed to err on the dissapointed side. From what I have read there is not a major amount of gameplay and a lot of it is Quick-Time Events or puzzles with just a handful of shooting sections, as well as that on the Eurogamer review they also mention that parts of the game are recycled at key points such as the climax which screams rush job to me.

Yeah I do agree you have a point in regards to The Last Of Us, a special game by very special developers.
I don't think there is any doubt it won't sell well as I said there are 18 million PS4 owners out there who let's be honest haven't had the greatest selection of games to play this gen plus it's the first big exclusive of the year so it's a shoe in to sell well.
I'll hold judgement until I've played it but can the cinematic stuff can be compared to Heavy Rain? That got an 87 on metacritic so where is the consistency?
Worse case scenario? I'll sell it for a tenner less than payed. Almost as cheap as a rental.

From what I've seen the cinematic stuff is more on par with "Press X repeatedly to dive out of the way, press Square press Triangle and watch your character jump around shooting things when you should be the one shooting" rather than Heavy Rain where your choices affected the thread of the story

Such a disappointing game.
Too many unnecessary QTE and cut scenes that keep interrupting you and mostly don't add anything to the game. The stealth bit is utter shit and doesn't even work properly, and the shooting and combat is all standard stuff that other games do far better.
The only positives are that the story is good and the game looks fucking stunning, but everything else is average. Luckily I got to play for this for nothing, I wouldn't bother with it until it's available for 10 quid or given away on PS Plus. People that only have a PS4 should be miffed because the exclusives for the console have been pretty shit so far.
