(a) the team? (b) Whelan/Moses/Wooly/Nzonzi/Diouf/Cameron/Arnie*? (c) Hughes? (d) the ref? (e) January transfer policy? (f) the board for not backing Hughes?
...or a little of all of the above, but mostly a crippling injury list?

Injuries have killed us pretty much all season but in particular the last couple of weeks.

Injuries.
I mean even with January I never thought we'd end up playing a game with that back 4 we had today and I'm the biggest pessimist cunt going.

My agenda says centre midfield, whelan and nzonzi. When 1-0 up you use what hughes called players game management. This was the time for them to take the heat out of the game, put their foot on the ball, and knock it around taking even more stuffing out of them.
What Tweedle dum and Tweedle dee did was, whelan made it a cup tie by charging around like a mad man, and nzonzi went awol and never got in the game. This against a mid table championship reserve midfield. I find this amazing, frustrating and bloody annoying. Henderson and allen showed how to kill palace today by just keeping the ball.

A mix.
Injuries have obviously fucked us rotten. There's no way we'd have conceded 8 goals in the last two games with Shawcross, Pieters and Wilson all fit, while Bojan, Walters, Odemwingie and Ireland would all have added some thrust and incisiveness in the final third.
I also blame Hughes because, despite the injuries, we played a suicidally high line today when it was clear the defence is slower than a Katie Price thought process. Why we couldn't just drop 10 yards deeper when it was clear they were just hoofing it over the top is beyond me. We also conceded from another set piece, which is just shite management / coaching however you cook it.
However, you can blame Hughes for certain tactics and you can blame injuries for a lack of organisation and firepower, but the way some players just vanished today when the going got tough was inexcusable.

Hughes says we can't blame injuries. He said the players just didn't do their jobs. And hes right ,any team we put up against championship teams should be competitive and albeit with 10 men second half we weren't

Hughes says we can't blame injuries. He said the players just didn't do their jobs. I can't believe they decided to play such a high line when it was painfully obvious it wasn't going to work by the 30th minute. He either told them to play that way or failed to communicate instructions during the game. it does him no credit to not take responsibility when he didnt do his job today, and probably causes hostility within the players thrown to the dogs. I'd prefer him to say I got it wrong this time and move on.

Injuries, tactics, and fatigue. All of our players looked knackered after the first quarter of an hour today, not surprising since most were playing their third match in 7 days. We didn't have a lot of first choice players, and our game plan was stupid as hell. King should have had someone following him around, but nope, we'll just let him go wherever he wants, bag a hat trick, draw a peno, and really should have had two more assists if their French striker didn't suck almost as much as diouf did today.

Don't hold with the injuries argument. Yes against the likes of Man City, not against a mid table Championship side who had made multiple changes themselves. We should have been 3 0 up after 20 minutes, after that we were completely outplayed. Wolly was continually dragged over to the right flank where he was being skinned for lack of pace, also leaving huge gaps. They had a game plan and executed it perfectly, and we had no answer to it

Nobody, it is just pool luck our side has so many injuries. It is nothing to do with not signing players in the transfer window, as who would sign players just for a good cup run.

Hughes, suicide tactics yesterday with his high line tactics.
Sure I heard that the guy who scored three had only scored once all season and is completely overlooked for their league squad.
And Hughes for not strengthening in January.

I think it´s the intensive programm PL clubs have to fulfill...no winter break, championship and two cups. At some point there is a sharp decline in the performance (in concentration), and we had this unfortunately yesterday

Time, injuries and ffp We are gradually changing from having a squad of first team and support players to a squad where any member would be a choice to start.
On the way we have done some immediate but temporary strengthening with the likes of Sidwell, Bardsley etc as we are constrained by ffp.
With all the money in the world we would still be constrained by ffp.
There is still some residual deadwood to clear out.
We have to ensure that those we pay money for are worth it. So far we have been making gradual improvements on the cheap.
We have been hit by a number of injuries to first choice players and we do not yet have the strength in depth to get by.
Despite lots of moaning we had our highest league finish and highest points tally last season. We are already in a position to better thst this season.
We lost a game which we should have won and it hurts but that shouldn't overwhelm what has been achieved in the eighteen months of this regime.
Shit happens lets move on

God forbid we drop back down - how will the poor loves come with a weekend match and a mid week match, week after week

I just wanted to say that there must be a logical performance loss due to this programme (of course the Championship teams have this programme too), which is also a reason for me why your National team doesn´t succeed at European or World Championship at the end of the season. Battery is flat anytime and the injury list is long. A little Winter break would be good.
