If sparky signs this clown then I think he needs shooting. Absolutely laughable his performance was. We are desperate to get Shawcross back in my opinion. We miss his comanding presence and aerial threat. I never seen our defence so weak in the air. Send Wollscheid back to Bayer now! I'd rather have wilko as cover.

Don't think Wolly is a bad player, but his pace is worrying! It's very dangerous to push the defence up when our central defence is so slow. Wolly played very well away to Leicester and home to QPR, and also played well against Ncastle. Seems to struggle a lot against pacy strikers though!

Think its only fair to judge him when in a solid back line alongside ryan and pieters. It was only a couple of weeks ago the view on here was I hope we already have the deal lined up. also in front of him with Tweedle dum and Tweedle dee he got as much cover as a g string on a sumo!

Last week we all thought Wolly was a good player.
Everyone was shite today. Best we forget it and move on. It happens to all teams in the cup, just ask Chelsea.

There has been pace and intensity in the last two games and he and muniesa both look like they cant handle it. I like muniesa but he isn't good enough at centre back. Wollscheid doesn't cut it for me. Awful today.Absolutely terrible

Don't think he is woeful, the entire back four were poor and they have to work as a team together. The obvious answer to a defender who lacks pace is to stay back.

Want Bojan woeful as well when he was first signed? It's the standard for Stoke fans, happens every time.

The MOM thread from Newcastle was utter nonsense. He is nowhere near good enough. Please don't see this one through. Please, in the name of God don't do it. Please.

He's sound as long as he doesn't have to do any actual defending.

And there we have it.
Five games played, a couple played poorly, and Wollschied has been completely written off. Just like Assaidi and Arnie were written off last season. Just like Bojan, N'zonzi and Muniesa have been.
Why is it so far beyond the average Stoke fan's mental capacity to give a player some time to adapt to a completely new club, country and teammates? Why can't it be accepted that footballers don't play well in every game? Why can't we just learn from the countless times that players have come good after shaky starts that it is stupid to judge their entire ability from a couple of bad games?!
It's absolutely embarrassing and shameful - nobody is in a position to judge him at such an early stage.

I think after five or six games you do start to form a fair judgment on a player and I don't think he's got the pace (or the distribution for that matter ) to push us forward Just my early opinion !

Watched Shotts play for Derby against Blackburn last week, he had Josh King in his pocket, he hardly got a kick ! Was he trying to defend him with 40 yards of space behind him? Tactics were frankly ridiculous today.

How can a player trying to defend his own position and camerons be called woeful, he didn't have the best game but 3 or 4 had worse games, shawcross playing the same position as wollscheid today would of made no difference we still would of lost,1 man can't take the blame for the entire team playing shit.

It was school boy stuff from Wolly and for an experienced player his performance and his attitude to his teammates was embarrassing.
He was getting dicked by some youth I'd never even heard of and decided it would be a good idea to mark him touch tight despite being 5 yards slower than him.
Shocking stuff and to think some said we wouldn't miss Ryan!!

The back four looked shaky against Citeh but worse today because they didn't have Begovic behind them. Respect to Butland, but he's not used to running the defence and when the defence hardly know each other then you need someone controlling the situation. There's 3 players who could do that this year, Shawcross, Begovic and Wilson. Begovic was fit so he should have played. And, like most people, I'd like to have seen Huth around the place.

I don't understand why he was the one to chase King, as he had Gestede in the box. Marking the quickest player was madness the way Blackburn played. The defence should have taken out more depth as well, as long balls behind our defence was their game.

Wollsheid was found wanting for pace today & had King had gone down in the 1st half when Wolly clearly was pulling his shirt, he would have got a red card. What I did find strange was that Wollsheid then started arguing with Bardsley, who was in the left back area. It was Cameron who was constantly out of position.
It was clearly a new experience for a centre half paring from Germany & Spain to face up against a typical long-ball team from the English Championship, as they lost virtually every header in our box all game.
We were well beaten today and lacked leadership on the pitch.

He's no Linford Christie it's true but Woll has looked pretty good apart from last couple of games, but today his lack of pace was brilliantly exposed, fair play to Blackburn!

That was the turning point for me and I said as much at the time.

I just found it weird that he continued to go touch tight against a player who was clearly quicker. His pace is a worry but he's looked okay up to now none of the back four played well today.

Summat needs doing. Shipping 4 against Citeh is bad enough but todays shambles highlights significant weaknesses. We've had 6 or 7 weeks of top 6 football and suddenly we are playing like shit.
