Anybody hear the commentator last night say we went to Dubai because we don't have under soil Heating at Clapton woods ? Said as though everyone else does . Must admit given all the talk of investment in the facility it would seem very odd as in the total scheme of things before the pitches are laid it's relatively low cost .
Could training on hard surfaces and the different nature of training explain all these ligament injuries so suddenly upon us like a plague
One thmgs for sure if it is true it's false economy of epic proportions
Anyone know the facts re c woods

It must all be true if they said on tv
Do any training grounds have under soil heating? Its a fecking vast area to heat!
The new 3/4G pitch allows them to train all weather doesnt it?

I'd imagine they do but only 2/3 pitches I'd suspect. From what I can gather the lack of undersoil heating wasn't the issue, they were just a bit cut up. How true that is I don't know though.

They do have drainage issues at Clayton.
That's bad for worms too.
Not sure about badgers though.

We have developed a training ground on a flood plain. Good site otherwise.

Didn't they spent a fortune on drilling deep and using hydrothermal? Maybe I dreamt it. Ay up Dave, been a while

Why do we go all the way to Clapton to train, surely we'd be better off near the Michelin Athletics club to train. Just a thought.

What happened to the full size indoor pitch? Isn't that meant to be on its way by now?

I have no idea. But Bojan never went to Dubai so that clears that one up! The only thing that has cleared up is he didn't go to Dubai. The OP is questioning our surfaces here not in Dubai and as it was Bojan who didn't go to Dubai and used our facilities then maybe he would have better going to Dubai

of course it was, it looked terrible and a bad pitch that is uneven will make the risk of twisting something like a knee higher.

The pitch wasn't bad & Bojan was running in a straight line when he got injured, his leg wasn't twisting. The pitch looked awful and his foot landed dodgily on it and twisted his knee. My ankles are like rubber (touch wood) I then played on the bobbliest, nastiest pitch and I did my ankle 3 times properly. Not done it before or since.

Not sure about badgers though. badgers eat worms, no worms, no badgers But Northy, surely the higher levels of moisture within the ground would encourage slugs and snails which would, in turn, provide a varied and nutritious diet for the Badgers ?
