It looked a strange partnership. Paul Jewell is certainly not a yes man like Dave Kemp and you can't see Pulis and Jewell agreeing on much.

Add to that that he's already got one assistant manager, so what's the second one for? That question gets even stranger when you think that the second assistant manager is a bloke with years of managerial experience. It was just an odd appointment.

Ah, but Francis had some other role - first team coach, I think - which he's reprised at WSA and Peter Reid came in while Kemp was off on his golfing tour of America. Kemp came back after he left. I don't think he ever had two assistants concurrently with us. The only thing I can think was that it was him giving a mate a leg up, like he did with Megson and Sam somebodyorother (former Leeds coach, can't think of his surname) while he was here.

Pretty sure Francis and Reid were at the club at the same time. Francis only worked a couple of days a week though didn't he?

Whatever that means!

One things for certain they certainly won't be the ones that go hand in hand with ice cream, unlike what our lads appear to train with. I have no idea what all of that means? In the world of Taz its best to go with the imagery rather than seek meaning!

Our performances on the pitch would suggest that we don't do anything on the training ground and until it does there's a saying that those who laugh the loudest and all that.

Were Tone and Jewell ever 'mates' before this appointment or was it just an out of the blue one?

Were Tone and Jewell ever 'mates' before this appointment or was it just an out of the blue one? I had it in my head that he'd helped us before like Megson but apparently it was only ever rumoured that he might. So I presume they're mates.

Must have been really impressed with Tone's training methods and probably felt a bit left out of it with Kempy and Tone' relationship.

TP had stated he became friends with Jewell after they'd attended coaching courses together. Guessing he just thought he'd give an old pal a job but after a week things were obviously feeling a bit awkward/crowded.
Sam Ellis was the ex Leeds bloke TP gave a temporary coaching role to..
