That's an absolutely terrible tackle. He could've easily broken his opponents leg.
Hardly anything said by the BBC commentators when the replays were shown.
In fact, as the pictures showed the Hull players leg almost snapping in half we had the words of "that's what he's in the team to do"!!
Then again, one of them is Keown.....

Even better comment went something along the lines of 'if this was a premier league match there could well have been a booking'.
Shocking tackle.

Should have been a yellow. As usual not given. I wonder why?

BBC commentary is just as bad as ITV. Don't like the way Sky dominates football but you have to admit their presentation is light years ahead of the rest

Need look no further than to the build up to our FA cup final and the final itself as to what it means for those at the FA to have a big named club at any cost on it's silverware and to put that in jeopardy is the real reason here as to why that Arsenal player was not shown a straight red.
In our preperations up to our cup final a select few of our players were selected for a drug test whereas none of those Manchester City faced such an ordeal which was all designed to throw us out of our stride and disrupt the underdogs preperations as much as possible.
Onto the final itself and Pennant was hacked down time and time again and yet not one Manchester City player received a booking which would have enabled Pennant to perform even further and strut his stuff because had they have been booked they'd have had to think twice before bringing him down again. Wilkinson sticks his first tackle in on the halfway line and it was of no surprise whatsoever in seeing him receive a booking.
Without mentioning that their goal was clearly offside one can clearly assume that those at the FA wanted that much bigger club on their trophy because it gives the impression that the billionaire owners had taken it seriously during a period 'and that period remains' where the FA cup had lost an enormous ammount of its prestige.
Fixed as fcuk.

At the best, he gets two yellows today.
You can easily make a case for both being red though.
Reckless, excessive force, dangerous - he ticked all the boxes.

Didn't see the first one but the second one was excessive force. Two footed, jumped in with no control over where or what he hit. The ref bottled it and has knackered any chance of retrospective action by giving him a yellow.
If that was anyone outside the Top 6 it would have been a red.
