as a follow up to my thread starter, what a player, he has blown me out of the water, even that penalty yesterday...which I did not think it was, the way he went from the outside and cut in was superb

There are currently two players who regularly got the whole crowd to roar in excitement when they got the ball...Mark Stein and Chamberlain.
At the moment they are ahead in my view....

Far too good for us....you can just tell when he plays he's on a different hemisphere to everybody else. So glad he wears the red and white

It's obvious some of you never saw Chamberlain play then?
"the way he went from the outside and cut in was superb".
If that is superb then I worry about some of the stuff you have seen!
It was good not superb. Now Chamberlain's turn and cross against Luton was superb.

I've got to say that based on these last few performances, he is indeed very special. Probably the best.
Time will tell ....

It was Joe-to state that Bojan is as good as Alan Hudson for being faster than their covering player is not the greatest bit of skill you will ever see.

How Hughes made this one possible is really beyond anything I can imagine, but I'm still grateful!

I really thought this was madness by Hughes, but he is really a £25M+ player! This is really insane, but he actually is!!!!!

Totally different types of player. I watched Hudson all through his time at Stoke, I am one of the lucky ones who saw the excellent Stoke sides of the late sixties and seventies. Hudson was a fetch and carry player, knitting the play through the middle, amazing vision and confidence on the ball, the most arrogant player I have seen, used to goad players which frustrated them. Hudson almost floated around the pitch, his movement was so subtle. Hudson at his best was sublime. Bojan is different, he has the vision but he is an attacking player and deadly, which Hudson never was plus he will score 10 plus goals a season, Hudson would score 2 or 3. The two could have played together in the same team. I would say that Hudson was a little like Nzonzie in his style but much more commanding.

Chamberlain,Micky Thomas,Stein,Fuller to name but 4. The wankfest over Bojan is quite ridiculous.Yes he's got talent but he's only shown it in a handful of games so far. If he ends up being player of the season then fair enough, but let's not go overboard just yet.

I agree that Bojan has been brilliant once he learned and strengthened up enough to compete in this league and he excites me whenever he gets the ball, the last player to do that was Fuller.
Now I've never seen Hudson or Stein or Chamberlain play as I only started going in 1998 and have season ticketed since then, And was only 4 at the time, but to say after a hand full of games he's better or close to any Stoke City legends of the past is a bit stupid.
The potential to be better with longevity sure, but definitely not yet.

Place players in their context, the Premier League today is a much higher standard than when the first three played due to the influx of foreign players. Of those 4 only Chambo is close but Bojan is on a different level, two feet, vision, finishing, crossing and work rate. However title of thread is correct only Hudson in the same bracket

Love the enthusiasm but this Bojan business is completely over the top. If he has done it over the course of a season or 2 then we can start to make such comparisons. As it stands the players listed above such as Chambo, Mickey T and Sammy Mac have all got a better claim though none will match Hudson at his best.

Nothing wrong with sitting back, watching the little maestro play, and enjoy every minute of it. Get excited about Bojan, even exaggerate if you must. Life is short so bask in your good fortune.

We owe it to Bojan and ourselves to spring big bucks for a proper top notch striker to play off him.

This won't be popular but Garth Crooks on his day was superb and well worthy of mention. And despite him turning his back was also a local lad.
I'll put my tin hat on.

I'm hoping he will be better when the weather improves =)
Bojan is looking the real deal and certainly has the potential to become a Stoke legend, but it's a bit too soon to put him there yet.
He is good for us and good for our image too, let's hope more class players follow him to sample the delights of our oatcakes=)

First trip to the Brit this season today do my first chance to see the man in the flesh so to speak.
My conclusion; he is awesome. Hudson is an excellent benchmark for him.

I think we are going a bit overboard at the mo. I hope he ends up a better player than Hudson and spends the rest of his career at Stoke, but he has only just started getting a regular game - so way to early to compare him with a legend like Hudson

I'm with you on this, it proves how bad our football has been in this league when fans are saying 25 million player, best player since Hudson etc etc He shows glimpses with his talent BUT it doesn't always work out. He actually gets dispossessed more than fans realize. He does a lot of simple things too with the ball, the Stoke fans are definitely going overboard about Bojan.

12 / 18 months is a good benchmark to be doing it, week in, week out on a consistent basis in the Premiership.
Bojan's getting there, although it's when we're reflecting back on a full season of the extra points we've earned and the games he's changed that he'll become a top player.
On the plus side, he made the difference against Everton, he was involved in both goals today, that's what starts to cement you as a legend
Good signs and good times... he's an absolute joy to watch at the moment

Typical Stoke City supporters to mealy mouth one of our own. Bojan is a class act and we should celebrate having him at our club. He's on a different level to the rest of our squad and we have some good footballers.
And Mickey Thomas couldn't lace his boots for ability.

Certainly the quickest feet I have seen in a Stoke shirt. Hudson was clever and Chamberlain was quick. If he has a couple of good seasons with us I fear he will be gone to bigger things, so will be hard to compare with the other two.

Add Beagrie to that list, and any reading fans may want to add Hoekstra to that list too
