Who was one of the 4,000 Stokies at London Road when all this happened?Pressman loan expires, Overson (thigh) out, Biggins suspended, Cranson off at half-time with a knee injury he sustained in spectacular goal mouth clearance... Up step Noel Blake, Adrian Heath, Ashley Grimes and Paul Ware.

I was there.
And on the way home we stopped in a pub and Vinny Overson & family popped in.
It was a great, great day. Oddly, given how low our stock had fallen to that point, it's comparable to the Wembley Semi-Final for me. For our younger viewers, it is impossible to over-exaggerate how bad we had become under Ball's farcical time at the football club. That's why Macari is held in such esteem. He stopped us from being an embarrassment to oursleves.
Cheers Warey.

I was right in line with the ball as he hit it. I knew as soon as he hit it, it was in. Went with my brother-in-law and got back at stupid o'clock.

In fact are you me in disguise? Ash Grimes was going to try & curl it.Warey just shoved him out of the way & smashed it.

I remember we'd been driving home for half an hour or so, and we were absolutely starving. Saw a sign for a fish and chip shop and thought we'd nip in quickly. Hadn't accounted for the hour long queue of Stokies who'd had the same thought.

I was there with my son who was 8 at the time. I lived in St.Neots at the time, so along with the matches at Cambridge United it was like a home game for me.

I made the semi.... and missed the final. Absolutely gutted. How come? Bit of a long story, but to make it much shorter I couldn't get the time off work and couldn't throw a sickie... wish I had just jacked the job in now but at the time wasn't in a position to. One of my few regrets!

I'd have been about 10 years old at the time though so I doubt I'm either of you in disguise. Quite coincidently I'm off to visit a Posh-supporting mate in Manchester as I type this. YouTube clip of Warey's strike will be wheeled out upon arrival.

I remember it well myself and my side kick Rowie arrived in Peterboro' early and found a pub near the ground already full of Stokies!
We stopped their till about half an hour from kick off.
A cracking goal from Paul Ware put us through to the Final.
Fond memories of such away days

I was there that night. Can still remember the mental after that free kick and the drive home plotting our day out at Wembley.
The Mrs wasn't impressed though. Crept in quietly then reenacted the mental, jumping up and down on the bed signing ' we're the famous Stoke City and we're going to Wemberley '.
I bet she regrets our split now. She must miss those moments.

Remember listening to it on the radio with mum and dad. I was 11 at the time.
Can remember asking my dad if we could go to Wembley and will never forget the look on his face as he told me "Of course we can".

Was there and couldn't believe it. Remember thinking afterwards, will never get a ticket to the final, a Wembley ticket must be like gold dust. Reality set in when I realised we were playing Stockport with both of their fans. Both occasions great days but a reminder of how far we had fallen and how far we have subsequently come. Having said that, would love another Wembley final and we only have one chance left this season. Bring it on Sparky

Better than any Premier League win, and up there with the 5-0. Indeed, may have even been better as we had been crap for aeons.
What a night: that terrace was literally alive that night. RIP Warey

RIP Warey The FA Cup is way too big for me to ever think that winning an Autoglass semi could compare, but as someone who missed out on the League Cup Final by a couple of years, I've got to say there was a magnificent feeling of utter disbelief that we'd reached Wembley that night. One comparison with an FA Cup semi I would make though, is that Warey's goal was as good as the often shown goal that Gazza scored against the Arse to take Spurs to the FA Cup Final in 91. An awesome way to reach any final, and a glorious way to remember a much loved player from a much loved team.

I was in the main stand with all the pboro fans, was lucky to get tickets as my big brother lived in near by Market Deeping...was only a kid, I remember jumping up and going mental copying ware's celebration in what were the "posh seats" ....found out after that we were right next to their officials...spose I was only a kid!...great night, and every time I think back to that night, as well as remembering ware's great strike, I can't help thinking how gutted that tosser Durham from talk sport must have been. Not sure Talk sport even existed but knowing he was probably there makes me smile!
