Since the incident, and since Ryan has started to attack the ball rather than mark anyone, we have looked 1000% better from defending corners. No coincidence. Same in the oppo box, last weekends goal came from Ryan and Pete attacking the ball not lookingto wrestle (although nobody seems to spot Ryan pushing Chamberlain out of the way just as the corner is taken, into a place where the ball hits him before falling to Johnny!) No need to get pissy about it, I was cross at the time, but has made us better defensively as a result! He didnt miss a thing second half v Swansea when left to attack the ball. I agree. A bit of physical is part of nogger but Shawcross has gone too far on the grappling too often. I know he isn't the only one who does it, Skirtel is just as bad but our concern is Stoke not Liverpool. |
