If I'd rated this directly I left the Brit it would have been 1* and I'm still not feeling much more generous - ok player error was to blame but where are the drills, where are the routines learned twice over backwards to make sure defenders are covered? That part is down to management imho. And in the end, not to be able to send a top half team out and be confident they'll take 3 points, or at least 1 in case of a disaster, against the bottom club is pretty bloody poor.
Bad day Leslie, I wasn't fancying our next three games before, I'm definitely not fancying them now.
3* from me
add * if you were at the Brit please

With so much time to prep for an important home game against a shit team to give home fans a chance to appreciate a good season so far. I give the manager a big fat 2 out of ten

5 from me. Didn't have the lads going until 30 mins on, didn't respect the counter and our fullbacks were caught out under pressure.

Shed loads of injuries, players making mistakes, players coming back from International duty from here there and everywhere, teams parking the bus and an owner who has decided to stop spending, it's nothing short of a miracle we are in the top 10. Mark Hughes and his coaching staff are doing an unbelievable job.
7 for me today. Hindsight is wonderful.

7.
Right starting team under the circumstances. Loses 1 point for bringing on Crouch, 1 point for taking off Sidwell for Adam and 1 for leaving Walters on the pitch given the match circumstances and how the game was shaping up (even allowing for the fact that he scored a goal).

5, where is the coaching at set pieces, the movement around the box, etc.
I thought Assaidi on for walters could have been a better sub at the end JW had become ineffective with crouch on

5 from me. Didn't have the lads going until 30 mins on, didn't respect the counter and our fullbacks were caught out under pressure. " Right lads - dont start playing until 30 minutes in" ...are you HONESTLY saying he said this to the team? Of course he didnt you fuckin tit The players have to be on it from minute 1 and they werent....you can sa anything you want but if the players can react to whats on the pitch from the first minute then its down to them... Hughes get a 7 from me When the players realised theyd made a sloppy start, THEN they cranked through the gears and for the rest of the game we battered them but just couldnt break through Thats the reality

5 - My argument with Mr HUghes is 14 corners zero threat. A manager earns his corn with what goes on during the week and today suggested that precious little happened regarding taking advantage of the opportunities we were likely to get against a team like Burnley. Wasn't thrilled with the 'throwing the defence together' remark either. There was enough time to plan for this.

The injuries are a concern with no defender as such on the bench today
We are missing one of Huth, Pieters, Wilson to steady the ship!
My main criticism is using Arnie instead of Assaidi.
OK Arnie needs the game time, but Assaidi is unable to play v Liverpool next week
Frustrating game, disappointing result, 15 minutes of woeful defending / organisation in defence
5 from me

6 - not really his fault the injuries to the defenders, but when we have so many changes you would think we would start off more cautiously, rather than get caught out as we were. Credit to him getting Bojan in, he has made a big difference going forward.

7 for me. Picked the best team he could, if they ever start like that again then he won't have done his job. No choice in the Moses sub, would have left Sidwell on personally; Diouf wasn't doing it so Crouch may have changed things. We really do need to learn how to cross a ball. Think we may see some movement in the January window.

1 for playing Bojan Otherwise, hasn't got a clue. For the first time, I lost count of the people saying he should be sacked, walking away from the ground. I must say, I have to agree Losing at home is alienating the fans, the lack of passion is going into the stands. Going downhill fast

Should have had the players firing straight from the start, instead Burnley took the early initiative. Never let crap teams have the early initiative.
Cameron at CH - fail
Moses fitness is beginning to piss me off, not sure how Hughes could sort that, but bringing on Arnie was NOT the answer, his passing and crossing in the box was WOEFUL, like other say, Assaidi should have come on.
Did not need to put crouch on. Diouf caused them lots of problems. But they are championship defenders and they know how to deal with crosses, but they can't deal with Dioufs pace.
4*

Had some injury problems, but the team lacked dynamism in the final third, today. The team need to be braver, attacking at pace ,rather than the slow, 'playing through them', type performance we saw today. Goals are mostly scored from three or four quick passes in the final third. We shouldn't be afraid of this.
Set pieces need to be worked on . Embarrassing and very telling, that we haven't scored off one this season.
Can't criticise him too much on the defensive side of things, due to how little time he has spent working with the current, patched up back four.
4 for me. Dominant side today, but didn't do well with the less glamorous aspect of the game.
Looking for a big improvement next week.

3. one striker at home simply doesn't work, as it's been proved time and time again! The way they came out was disgusting, as if we only had to turn up. The subs bordering ridiculous. Ok diouf is wank with the worst touch I've seen in many a year but he does put defenders under pressure and keeps them on the back foot. To bring crouch on who is as mobile as a bastard 10tonne skip was something pulis would do

4. Bad day at the office today. The thing that really irks me is that we had no plan B. Once they were 2 up they were always going to park the bus & we didn't really vary our approach. Do we practice corners & set pieces at all?

Just what is the point of these threads. Presumably he got 10's all round a fortnight ago, then with the same players he gets low marks this week.
Wate of space.
