They did it last night at the Norwich match.
I'm also mystified.

I don't know who it was for either. H With your username I thought you would have made the connection.
If Wolves are at home today, they are unlikely to be at home next week, so a minute's silence today not next week rather than not at all??

I'm ex military too and was equally mystified. Usually happens on the weekend closest to 11th regardless of which teams are at home and doesn't usually stretch out over a two week period. I realise this year is a bit different but can't see why all teams would feel the need to mark the day twice to ensure they've got it covered in a home fixture.

Too be honest I thought the same. Who's died?
Remembrance Sunday is on the 9th. Armistice Day is the 11th. Surely a better day for a minutes silence is next Saturday? What do Wolves and Birmingham do next weekend? Do another one or say "you're alright, we did ours last week?"

Does seem ridiculously early and nowadays a minutes silence can happen for any old reason.

Ged Scott BBC Sport at Molineux Posted at "A very poorly observed minute's silence by a small minority at Molineux, to mark the forthcoming Remembrance Week. "Small factions in both Blues and Wolves sections of the ground fail to show due respect and are only silenced by The Last Post, played by a lone trumpeter, before shouting obscenities at each other at the conclusion of the minute. "But, when the game gets started, it's controlled aggression out on the park as both sides get stuck in. Wolves are looking the more dangerous early on."

I don't know who it was for either. H Well you should be fucking ashamed of yourself too! Why? It's the best part of 2 weeks ago yet, if I hadn't of read it on Twatter, I wouldn't have known either. For the two reason I put in my post above.

During the minutes silence, is it ok to whisper very quietly, to the person next to you, "What's this minutes silence for?"

the minutes silence should be reserved for armistice day and remembrance sunday. this overkill is doing nobody any favours.it is right that we remember the sacrifices made particularly the two world wars but this needs to be done by parents and in schools.and any footy on the two reserved days. given that the majority of the crowd were not even born when ww2 ended and many of them will be tanked up i think asking for a minutes silence on any other day than armistice day and remembrance sunday is simply asking to be abused. nobody will come out of this with any credit.

Fuck me we're supposed to be "ashamed of ourselves" for not realising that football is commemorating Armistice Day over a week early this year. If the wife decides to bring forward our wedding anniversary and not bother telling me I guess I'll quite rightly be in the shit.
