Hello you lot. It's been a while since I popped in here, so I thought I would come and say hello and ask your opinions on the game next week.
Cheers,
EH.

I'm not looking forward. Personally I preferred the West Ham of last season.

vine.co/v/OhtLHHwbEB5 - All Hammers are buzzing after today. Looking forward to next week - odds that we win 4 in a row unlikely plus you had a hex on us last season. Score draw.

We can't seem to put two decent halves together, if you score first we will be in trouble.

Surely Sakho can't score in another game. Surely. But low and behold bet fucking Valencia does.

We're in for an interesting week. I'm not sure what is going to take priority, the winnable home league game or the more difficult (no offence) cup game in the week. With our squad in pieces, I can see us being too stretched and losing both games.
Don't expect to see us playing as we did at the end of last season. Odemwingie is out until the new year, Arnautovic has gone backwards, Whelan has broken his leg and our defence are giving away silly goals. If you're any good at set pieces you'll get a goal. Our best player is still Ryan Shawcross, but the referees have him in their sights at the minute thanks to unfair media attention. Why he has suddenly become a target for referees and yet, say, Suarez never was, I don't know. Moses is a bright point and is phenomenally talented, but I don't know if he's fit enough to play two in a week. I suspect that if he can walk on one leg, he'll play.
It's just not a good time for us. We have plenty of first teamers missing or on the mend.

They have mainly come from the quick break. We have only failed to score once this season, which was on the opening game. I think for you to win, you will have to score at least two.

Somewhat counter-intuitively, I think this might be a good time to play West Ham.
Obviously they are in a false position right now, this run cannot last forever. Last season when we beat them they were also on a good run at the time.
We tend to get complacent at home against teams we expect to beat (like Villa, Leicester etc.). Having already lost twice at home, and with the Hammers in great form, I think we will approach this with the right mind set.
It's hard to give a firm prediction, because we have an important game on Wednesday first.
I reckon a fairly close game, my gut says a score draw.

It's not like we are only 4 games in to the season and have played only crap sides. 6 points from last year's Champions and runners up say we deserve to be there fair and square. And you never beat us last season when we were on a good run. We were shite all season

Regardless of whether or not you deserve to be there right now, there is obviously no chance you finishing in the top four. Apologies if you are joking and I am just a bit slow

I don’t think any Hammers seriously think we’ll finish anywhere close to where we are now – but we’re enjoying the transformation in form/results and entertainment. All the summer’s intake have improved us.
We’ll enjoy it while it lasts!!
As someone put on our board “Sakho is a great scorer of goals – Valencia is a scorer of great goals”. £15m the pair. But it’s a new midfield and fullbacks that make the chances they’ve been sticking away.
Without OW Hughes seems to have you set up to counter (as we do quite a lot) so I can see a cagey game. Whoever bosses the midfield has the best chance of winning IMO.

I'm old enough to remember back in 1986 when we were riding high in the league and was constantly told we wouldn't e able to keep our title challenge up. It went down to the last day of the season and we finished 3rd. Never say never - this season has started to feel how that one did - same style kit, shite results in pre-season, and an unknown strike partnership getting it together from the off. I can dream, it don't happen often

Got to be at it for the whole of the match because Big Sams side will take any advantage going.
They're looking good and I'm pleased for Sam.
Go oarnnnnn Stoke though.

I can dream, it don't happen often I wish it was still like that but right now the top 6 teams just have too much money. I reckon for everyone outside the big six, the best we can hope for is to emulate either Everton or Southampton. If you guys can keep this up and finish maybe sixth or seventh, I reckon that would realistically be the pinnacle of what you can achieve in today's game. I reckon you can maybe do that, because you have spent the money and Big Sam finished fifth with Bolton, but it is too soon to call it right now.

Stoke will get the 3 points next week, no problem. It's easy to 'get up' playing against Man City at home. Coming to stoke is a completely different story. Won't be able to cope with what we have going forward. I think West Ham will finish about 13/14th- about 4/6 places below stoke
