More than likely playing it coy so Chelsea don't charge us an extortionate price for him, he's up there in the Fuller bracket for taking the piss out of defenders.

Can see him at somewhere like Everton if I'm being honest.

Based on the limited amount we have seen so far, he looks yo have the potential to be the best wide play at stoke since Peter Beattie. Let's see where are though after 20 games.

I certainly don't think that what Peter Coates says in public will have a great deal of bearing on what is or is not happening behind the scenes. I doubt if Coates or the club will have fed this story to the papers. Inevitably, given Moses' from (which has been a bit of a revelation) the press will be asking questions and Coates has given a non committal reply - which was all he could do.
Hopefully, like a swan on a lake, the legs are working away under water trying to get a deal done for January. If Moses continues in this form the chances are that he will be sold in January - to us or to someone else. And if it is to someone else then any loan agreement we have is terminated whether we like it or not. So to keep him for the season we'll probably have to buy him.

Coates should get in there now and negotiate a January permanent signing.

we have the season on loan where we're probably not paying his full salary. We can always start negotiating a deal for the summer already, but no need to rush at the moment.
Bit of a non-story at this time.

I think people are confusing what the Sentinel writer said and what Coates is quoted as saying .All he has said is that it may be too early to decide, which it is.

Bit of a non-story at this time. foster - the rules on loans mean that, even for a season long loan, another club can buy the player in January and the loan is AUTOMATICALLY terminated - the club who has the player on season long loan has no say in the matter. If Moses keeps up this form then almost certainly a club will buy him in January. Our best chance is to try to be that club. The chances of us being the only club trying to get him in January are next to NIL. You could say why would he sign for another club whilst he is on his Chelsea wages and on loan to us? But after over two seasons in limbo - he'll want security for his future and he'd be foolish not to join another club if they, were secure in the their league, offered him the deal he wants and would be likely to give him regular starts.

If we have an agreement to have him on loan until the end of the season we would still re-negotiate that arrangement and go for buying him in January whilst being in pole position. If he had a cracking season that would increase his price and open the window for competition. As it stands if Chelsea are doing well and don't need him, if Moses is liking his time here, if we can afford the transfer fee and wages, then Chelsea may well go for a sale sooner rather than later....a bird in the hand and all that. Plenty of scope to get him whilst we can and hopefully they can do a deal in Jan.

Lets hope to god that Coatesy is at least dusting off the old chequebook. Moses is exactly what we need at the moment with his pace and trickery, especially with Ode out and Arnie off colour and he has been brilliant for us so far, ripping full backs to shreds, setting up both goals at QPR and the winner on monday. I don't think that he will have a future at Chelsea, but surely there will be other clubs looking at him. We have got a very good chance of securing him permanently, so we cant afford to pass this opportunity up and we need to jump now and get something sorted with both himself and Chelsea so that we can ensure he is here for the long haul.

I am not doubting what Lakeland says, but apparently Coates doesn't know either, "we are pleased to have him for the whole season".
