Today's vote in Scotland is enormous and will not only affect Scotland, or The UK, but will have implications and reverberate around the world, it truly is an historic day and could re write the history books. I personally hope they vote NO...And continue to bar Female Members from The R & A St Andrews.

Yes I'm sure the residents of east timor, bonaire and guatamala are holding their breath on the outcome of this one I just hope that it ends soon so I don't have to see Rab C Salmond's face on the TV much longer

I was not referring to the Independence vote, I, like many, could not give two hoots man the noo...( see what I did there )...I am referring to the far more important vote today when R&A St Andrews votes whether or not to break with tradition and allow Female members...

Mark Twain said "Golf was a good walk ruined".
Wouldn't disagree with that.

One of the international implications is other areas will gain impetus for their own campaigns. Like Catalan.

Mark Twain said "Golf was a good walk ruined". Wouldn't disagree with that. Golf: A bunch of blokes walking around a field for four days dressed like Ronnie Corbett. Every day, less blokes return, presumably because they've found something better to do.

One of the international implications is other areas will gain impetus for their own campaigns. Like Catalan. But that will hit the buffers as it's always done , similarly with the Basque issue , simply because the Spanish government has not and will not countenance any discussions relating to independence of those two regions

Right folks guess the result! Reading the tea leaves the game is well and truly up for the 'yessers'. No 58% Yes 42% I fancy the turnout will be miles down on the 97% of registered voters too. The 3 main Westminster party leaders were crazy to stump up the offer of near enough 'devo-max' at the last minute to help get a "no" vote since it wasn't necessary and now we are stuck with it
