Whilst I have higher hopes than you re Diouf's final total, you do indeed have a point.
Losing Oddie is a big blow as that is a god 8ish goals (based on ratio's) gone
Our midfield has never really scored many and neither have our wingers

Crouch seems to have lost his goalscoring boots. Its ok doing the hold up work but he needs to be more clinical as hes having plenty of chances.
Midfield shooting from the edge of the area looks as wank as always.
Maybe its time to bring back Huth cuz hes a threat at corners?

Really don't think Diouf is the one to single out after yesterday's game! He got 15 minutes or thereabout I think! Anyway it's easy to see we lack goals in our team (2 in 4) and with Odemwingie out we need Adam to play in our home games. He is the only one with a proper shot in him, the rest of our players don't seem to have this ability at all. In away games where we can rely more on counter attacks I wouldn't play Adam as he is a bit slow and doesn't cover enough ground. Anyway our finishing needs to be improved quickly!

Until Coates splashes some serious cash, I've given up on seeing a quality cutting edge. Same problem year after year.

And did more in those 15 minutes than the others had done in 80 or 90. Diouf should have started. He's a professional footballer on 40k per week. Tiredness is not an excuse and if its true that his national team got him economy seat flights he should have used some of his substantial wages to buy himself an upgrade. YESTERDAYS team had no goals in it but the bench had players more than capable of both creating and scoring goals. Simple fact is Hughes got it wrong and he needed to make 4 or 5 changes to put it right. He hasn't got a lot wrong since arriving at Stoke, but yesterday he did.

Don't agree to the 4-5 changes, but think 1 or 2 would have been the answer! Adam and Arnie for Bojan and Walters for me! Maybe Diouf as well!

The team AND the bench were full of inconsistent forwards who might or might not score/make things happen. Its what weve paid for and its what weve got. Very difficult choices for Hughes as far as I can see. Arnie for example has done absolutely nothing to justify a place lately .......... but you never know with him.

I'd have taken Crouch, Bojan and Walters off at half time and would then have wanted to use Huth instead of Wilson and Assaidi's pace at the end...hence the 5 changes. A bad starting 11 made it impossible to put it right with subs because we couldn't use enough of them.
