How come Arse & Manure got an extension to allow Welbecks transfer time to go through past the deadline.
I know sometimes they let the paperwork go through after but was this the case with the two prima donna clubs or is it a case of anyone else being told too late?

As long as an intention to transfer form or something like that goes through before the deadline they can be completed within a set period after I m pretty sure we have done it in the past

Seems if its pretty much sorted and just needs a little more time to get it all done and dusted you can ask for a little more time, fair enough for me as long as you can show who it is you're trying to sign and you're not just frantically trying to get anyone, plenty of the lower clubs used it as well.

Mickmillslovechild will be here soon to inform you of your stupidity. But if he doesn't, I'm sure Lakeland Potter will oblige!

Mickmillslovechild will be here soon to inform you of your stupidity. But if he doesn't, I'm sure Lakeland Potter will oblige! you're all fucking stupid bastards!!!! nah mate i'm not clued up on the deadline itself but as others have said, we've done it before and made signings after the window shuts and surprisingly no-one seems to complain then. there were also "smaller" clubs (Burnley and Hull) who were allowed an extension so to just use it as an excuse to slate the FA etc. for big club bias is just wrong on this one. EDIT: just had a google and there appears to be what is called a "Deal sheet" which has to be submitted after 9pm on deadline day but before 11pm. it has to show a deal has been agreed by both parties and if so then they can get an extension until 1am to finalise the paperwork. if it's an international transfer then they still have to submit the paperwork by 12am (which is the deadline for international transfers anyway). it applies to all clubs

What's the big deal? There may be a deadline but there are probably conditions under which it can be slightly extended. As has happened.

The only comment I would like to make on this is how come we missed out on January signings when the pizza was more important if we could have just asked for an extension

The only comment I would like to make on this is how come we missed out on January signings when the pizza was more important if we could have just asked for an extension because you can only get an extension if you prove that a deal HAS already been agreed with all parties. the extension is only for an extra 2 hours to get the paperwork done on a deal that has already been fully agreed upon, it's not an extra few hours to look for players and contact them etc.

because the paperwork etc. was already submitted last night, Villa are simply awaiting confirmation from the FA and the Prem that it was submitted in time. "It is now up to the Premier League to decide whether the paperwork was completed in time for the deal to be completed, with Cleverley reported to still have been at Manchester United's Carrington training ground until 2am."
